Abstract:
The invention relates to the use of a thermal reversible gel, such as a copolymer composition, as a biological filler or implant. The gel has a semi-solid form at body temperature, but upon cooling to a temperature below a threshold level, the gel is liquefied and can be re-shaped, re-sized, manipulated or removed from the body. The gel may be used as a subcutaneous implant, a biological filler, joint or tissue spacer, for wrinkle filling or other cosmetic implants, as a soft-tissue replacement for reconstructive surgery, or as a barrier within the lumen of a biological structure, such as a blood vessel. The implant may be used to provide reversible birth control by providing, for example, a reversible barrier to the cervix or a reversible blockage of the lumen of the vas deferens.

Abstract:
The invention relates to a gelable copolymer composition comprising a copolymer in a solvent. The copolymer has the structure A(B)n, wherein the core (A) is soluble in the solvent, the arms (B) are convertible between soluble and insoluble in the solent depending on an environmental condition, and n>1. The composition forms a gel under environmental conditions in which B is insoluble, through formation of B aggregates. Block copolymers comprising polyethylene glycol (PEG) and poly(N-iso-propylacrylamide) (PNIPAAm) having a liquid form at ambient temperature under aqueous conditions and a gel form at body temperature are disclosed. Copolymer compositions according to the invention can be used to form in situ implants useful in slow-release formulations of biologically active molecules

Abstract:
A cleaning composition for cleaning printing components such as printing blankets and inking rollers is provided having a VOC content of less than about 10%. The composition includes a cationic surfactant containing no halides, a co-microemulsifying surfactant, and a solvent selected from a low-VOC solvent, a VOC-exempt solvent, or combinations thereof. The cleaning composition may be applied to the surface of a printing press component containing ink and then wiped away.
