摘要： A carboxylate detergent prepared by the process comprising (a) alkylating a hydroxyaromatic compound with at least one normal alpha olefin having from about 12 to about 30 carbon atoms per molecule that has been isomerized to obtain an isomerized alpha olefin having 15-98 wt % branching and a residual alpha olefin content of between from about 0.1 to about 30 wt %, thereby producing an alkylated hydroxyaromatic compound; (b) neutralizing the resulting alkylated hydroxyaromatic compound with an alkali metal base; (c) carbonating the alkali metal salt from step (b) with carbon dioxide; (d) acidifying the salt produced in step (c); and (e) overbasing the resulting alkylated hydroxyaromatic carboxylic acid.

摘要： An overbased, sulfurized salt of at least one alkylated hydroxyaromatic compound, wherein the alkyl substituent of the hydroxyaromatic compound is a residue of at least one isomerized olefin having from about 15 to about 99 wt. % branching is disclosed. The overbased, sulfurized salt of at least one alkylated hydroxyaromatic compound is produced by the process comprising: (a) alkylating at least one hydroxyaromatic compound with at least one isomerized olefin having from about 15 to about 99 wt. % branching obtained by isomerizing at least one normal alpha olefin having from about 10 to about 40 carbon atoms, to provide at least one alkylated hydroxyaromatic compound; (b) neutralizing and sulfurizing the alkylated hydroxyaromatic compound in any order to provide at least one neutralized, sulfurized alkylated hydroxyaromatic compound; and (c) overbasing the at least one neutralized, sulfurized alkylated hydroxyaromatic compound.

摘要： Disclosed herein is a system and method for screening a liquid composition. The system includes (a) a test cell having a top portion and a bottom portion, the test cell comprising (i) a test panel removably mounted to the top portion of the test cell at an angle of between about 10 to about 45 degrees to the horizontal of the test cell; (ii) a reservoir for holding the liquid composition; and (iii) a means for applying a substantially uniform coating of the liquid composition from the reservoir to at least a portion of the test panel; (b) a means for heating the test panel according to a first temperature control program; (c) a means for heating the reservoir according to a second temperature control program; and (d) a means for supplying an oxidizing gas to the test cell.
