摘要: Embodiments provide a method and device for plate osteosynthesis of a bone fracture that allows angle-stable fixation of the bone fracture, while permitting elastic axial motion at the fracture site in a controlled, symmetric manner to stimulate fracture healing. Embodiments pertain to a bone plate having an outer surface and a bone-facing surface. The bone plate incorporating internal sliding elements containing a threaded receiving hole for bone screws that have a correspondingly threaded screw head. The sliding elements undergo controlled displacement parallel to the longitudinal axis of the plate but are substantially constrained against displacement perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the plate. The bone screws with threaded heads may be rigidly fixed to the threaded receiving holes in the sliding elements without compressing the bone plate onto the bone surface. Sliding elements are elastically suspended inside the bone plate and undergo dynamic motion.

摘要: There is provided a master-slave system including: a slave unit including an observation optical system imaging a subject A; a treatment part projecting from a surface on which the observation optical system is provided and at least part of the treatment tools is imaged along with the subject A by the observation optical system; a master apparatus including an operating unit held and operated by an operator; a control unit associating operation of the operating unit of the master apparatus with motion of the slave unit and motion of the treatment part; and a monitor screen displaying an image acquired by the observation optical system, wherein the operating unit includes a command input unit into which a motion command for a slave unit is inputted while the operating unit is held by the operator without changing a pose of the operating unit.

摘要: A device for measuring fluid pressure in the lumen of a syringe including a pressure transducer integrally mounted in the plunger of the syringe under the plunger tip, such that the force applied by the plunger to the fluid in the syringe is transmitted to the transducer and the resulting electronic signal is converted to a display value for aiding a physician. A syringe that includes such a device may be placed in communication with a tubular member attached to a needle inserted into the body of a disk found in the spinal column of the back for diagnosing diseased disks in the back. The displayed pressure value may facilitate this diagnosis. Other uses of pressure applying monitoring syringes for other applications in communication with the body also benefit from the disclosed syringe construction, such as percutaneous translumenal angioplasty (PTA) procedures.

摘要: A tool for implementing a correction plan in an external fixation frame having a plurality of adjustment elements or screws, for example, generally includes a driver, a motor, a controller, and a processor. The driver is adapted to engage and rotate each of the screws. The motor is coupled the driver and adapted to rotate the driver. The controller is connected to the motor and configured to control operation of the motor. The controller may determine whether the tool is engaged with a strut and which strut is engaged, and may determine how much the strut has rotated, taking into account intentional or unintentional manual rotation of the tool. The tool may also include features to help ensure proper engagement between the drive and the strut. Variations may be provided in which similar functionality is provided with manual rotation of a motorless tool.

摘要: A device can be provided that includes a bone plate having an upper surface and a bone-facing surface, wherein the bone plate includes one or more openings extending through the bone plate from the upper surface to the bone-facing surface, and one or more sliding elements each including a fastener receiving hole. The one or more openings can at least partially surround a periphery of one of the receiving holes. Further, the one or more openings can be at least partially filled with an elastomer to support elastic suspension of the one or more sliding elements in the bone plate, thereby enabling relative displacement between the one or more sliding elements and the bone plate. At least one sensor can also be provided that is operable to assess a dynamic parameter of one of the one or more sliding elements within the bone plate.
