Abstract:
A sealing arrangement is provided in which a seal flange includes a seal flange body having an integrated electrically conductive seal integrated onto an outer circumferential edge of the seal flange body. The seal flange with integrated seal is installable to seal between two confronting mounting flange faces. The seal is operative to conduct electric charge between said seal flange body and said mounting flanges.

The above objectives are accomplished according to the present invention by providing a filter medium for operating environments needing static electricity dissipation to help reduce ignition sources comprising: a substrate of non-woven felt including a polymeric fiber; a conductive scrim having a grid of conductive filaments adjacent to said substrate layer; and, a top layer of non-woven felt including a polymeric fiber and copolymer fiber blend having a melt temperature greater than 100° C. wherein said substrate layer, said conductive scrim and said top layer are manufactured into said filter medium by mechanical web formation.
Abstract:
Filters capable of dissipating static charges. One example includes a filter media pack comprising fluted media secured to facing media; the fluted media having cellulose fibers; and the fluted media including an amount of carbon black sufficient to impart a static charge dissipative property thereto. One example includes an air filter cartridge having a filter media pack comprising fluted media secured to facing media; the fluted media comprising cellulose fibers; the fluted media having at least one side coated with a static charge dissipative amount of a metallic coating. These filters are useable in, for example, dust collectors.
Abstract:
A method for clearing natural gas service lines includes providing an independently operable vacuum clearing unit having a frame supporting a centrifugal blower, an internal combustion engine for operating the blower and a bag separator connected to an air intake on the blower. The blower is exhausted above the truck through an absolute (HEPA) filter. A drum top separator selectively mounted on the open upper end of one of a plurality of waste barrels releasably secured in fixed position on the truck is connected between the vacuum clearing unit and an inlet port accessible externally of the truck. The inlet port is connected by an elongated flexible service hose and a service hose adapter to a gas service line to be cleared. The vacuum clearing unit is then operated, thereby drawing any debris present in the gas line through the unit and into one of the plurality of waste barrels.
Abstract:
A vertically oriented dust collector configured to filter dry particulate matter from an air stream comprises a housing containing at least one cartridge. Each cartridge comprises a filter pan having an opening with a filter incorporated into the opening. The filter pan has at least one alignment opening. The housing further comprises at least one pair of rails oriented parallel to each other within the housing onto which each cartridge is mounted and at least one alignment block sized and shaped to correspond to the alignment opening of the filter pan. The alignment block is positioned such that when the cartridge is installed in the housing, the alignment opening of the filter pan aligns with the alignment block.
Abstract:
An air filtration system is provided. The air filtration system embodies filtration material supported by a frame, wherein the air filtration system provides two framed filtration materials sandwiching a fabric filter. Such framework may be removably engaged through magnetic forces. The filtration material may hold and/or carry electrostatic forces and/or magnetostatic forces induced through a current from an electrical power source and/or magnetic forces of the magnetics.
Abstract:
A bag house filtration system in which the filter media includes a woven textile formed from glass yarns other high temperature resistant yarns. A first bath is applied to the textile which contains a conductive component, a first fluoropolymer and a lubricant (in some cases where the yarns are glass). A second bath containing primarily a second fluoropolymer is then applied to the textile and the first composition to seal the first composition on the textile. The textile, so treated dissipates the static electricity normally generated in the filter media thus reducing excessive buildup of contaminating particles and enhancing cleaning of the bag during use.
Abstract:
A conductive filtration media having a textile substrate (with a defined first side and a second side and a machine and cross-machine direction), where the conductive pattern on the first side is in registration with the conductive pattern on the second side of the textile substrate. The conductive pattern has a plurality of continuous conductive pathways across the textile substrate, the resistivity of the conductive pattern is less than 100 mega ohms when measured on a 2″ by 12″ sample taken in the machine and cross-machine direction of the textile substrate in accordance with test DIN 54 345, and the air permeability of the conductive filtration media is between 1 and 100 cc/cm2/sec as measured by ASTM D737. A conductive air filter made from the conductive filtration media and the method of making the conductive filtration media is also disclosed.

Abstract:
A method of producing a filter unit, such as an air/oil separator, having a tubular filter element bonded at one end to an end cap, is proposed. The method includes the steps of: providing a tubular filter element and an end cap; melting a portion of the end cap; and embedding an end of the filter element into the melted portion of the end cap. The melted portion, on cooling, solidifies to bond the tubular filter element to the end cap. The end cap can be formed of thermoplastic containing an electrically conductive filler. The end cap can be formed of a thermoplastic having a melting point of at least 180 C. The method may further include, after the embedding step, a step of forcing melted thermoplastic from the melted portion radially against a side wall of the tubular filter element.
