摘要: Methods and apparatus for refining feedstocks, such as crude or synthetic oil, and like feedstocks, are disclosed herein. In some embodiments, a reactor for refining a feedstock includes: a chamber having an inner volume to hold a liquid feedstock, a feedstock inlet port, a process gas inlet port, and an outlet port; a gas diffuser housed within the chamber and coupled to the process gas inlet port; and a radical generator coupled in fluid communication with the inner volume via the gas diffuser. In some embodiments, a method for refining feedstock includes: providing liquid feedstock to an inner volume of a reactor; flowing a radicalized process gas from a radical generator into the inner volume and into contact with the feedstock via a gas diffuser to fractionate the feedstock and produce one or more fractions of product in a vaporous mixture; and collecting a desired product from the vaporous mixture.

摘要: A process for the gas-phase polymerization of α-olefins carried out in two interconnected polymerization zones, wherein the growing polymer particles flow through the first of said polymerization zones (riser) under fast fluidization conditions, leave said riser and enter the second of said polymerization zones (downcomer) through which they flow downward in a densified form, the process being characterized in that: (a) the gas mixture present in the riser is totally or partially prevented from entering the downcomer by introducing into the upper part of said downcomer a liquid stream LB having a composition different from the gaseous mixture present in the riser; (b) the ratio R between the flow rate Fp of polymer circulated between said downcomer and said riser and the flow rate LB of said liquid being adjusted in a range from 10 to 50.

摘要: Process for polymerizing at least one olefinic monomer selected from ethylene, propylene and 1-butene in a loop reactor in the presence of a polymerization catalyst at from 20 to 150° C., but below the melting point of a polymer to be formed, and a pressure of from 43 to 80 bar, where the polymer formed is present in a suspension in a liquid or supercritical suspension medium and wherein the suspension is circulated by means of an axial pump, wherein the polymerization is carried out at an average solids concentration in the reactor of more than 53% by weight, in the case of continuous product discharge, and at an average solids concentration in the reactor of more than 45% by weight, in the case of discontinuous product discharge, and wherein the polymerization is carried out at an ethylene concentration of at least 10 mol %, based on the suspension medium.

摘要: A large-volume reactor (10) for treating a free-flowing material, having a housing (12) which surrounds an interior space (14), a material feed (11) at one end of the housing (12) and a material discharge (13) at the other end of the housing (12). A rotor shaft (22), which is driven in rotation about its axis and conveys the material in the direction from the material feed (11) to the material discharge (13), is arranged in the interior space (14). A partition (16) in the interior space (14) defines two separate process spaces (18null, 18null) from one another, and the partition (16) includes a build-up system (24) having a build-up system passage (26) which leads from an inlet opening (40) which opens out into the first process space (18null), to an outlet opening (42) which opens out into the second process space (18null). The build-up system passage (26) is configured to pass the material from the first process space (18null) into the second process space (18null) and so that the flowing material forms a barrier which effectively prevents gas from passing through the passage.

摘要: The present technique provides for the use of spectroscopic probes, such as Raman probes, within the conduits of a polyolefin production system. The Raman probe or other spectroscopic probes may be used to obtain spectroscopic measurements of the contents of the conduits. The spectroscopic measurements may be processed and analyzed to determine the composition of the conduit contents. In addition, the spectroscopic measurements may be used in conjunction with correlations or other statistical models to determine one or more properties of interest of a constituent of the conduit contents. One or more processes upstream and/or downstream of the conduit may be adjusted in response to the determined composition or composition properties.
