    摘要: A saw wire to cut hard and brittle materials is disclosed that comprises a steel wire that is provided with bends with segments in between. The average degree of bending of the bends is between 0.5% and 5%. Such a saw wire has a higher breaking load compared to saw wires having a conventional, higher average degree of bending. A method to measure the curvature is described as well as a process to make the inventive saw wire. The invention is applicable to any shaped saw wire for example a single crimped saw wire, a saw wire with at least two crimps in different planes, a saw wire with crimps rotating in a plane.

    摘要: A method of preparing a plurality of workpieces for concurrent cutting using a stone cutting machine is disclosed. Each workpiece can include a stone slab that has two parallel faces and one or more edges, a substrate that is bonded to a first face, and a substrate that is bonded to a second face of the stone slab. The stone cutting machine can have a plurality of stone cutting elements and it can be configured to concurrently create a plurality of stone cuts. The method can include: providing a plurality of workpieces; and positioning the plurality of workpieces by placing a set of shims between adjacent pairs of workpieces. The set of shims can be placed to compensate for variations in workpiece thickness and/or to position each of the workpieces with one edge of each stone slab in relative alignment with one of the stone cutting elements.

    摘要: The present invention provides a bandsaw cutting apparatus including an actuator configured to move static pressure pads forward and backward in a rotating direction of a blade, and a controller configured to control a movement distance and a movement speed of the static pressure pads to be moved by the actuator, wherein the ingot is cut by feeding the blade relatively downward toward and below the ingot while a rotating blade is guided with static pressure pads, and the movement of the static pressure pads is controlled with the controller. The apparatus can stably suppress a displacement of the blade during cutting, thereby cutting the ingot into blocks or sample wafers for crystal quality evaluation stably with good quality cut surface at a higher cutting rate and extending the lifetime of the blade.

    摘要: A wire saw 10 is laid across sheaves 12, 14, 16, and 18 arranged within a substantially horizontal plane. The sheave 12 is rotated by a rotary motor 30 to horizontally drive the wire saw 10. Within a region formed by the wire saw laid across the sheaves, a stone material 80 is set on a carriage 82. The carriage 82 is provided with front wheels 83 and rear wheels 84, and the wheels are set on the pair of rails 85 laid so as to extend in a direction substantially orthogonal to a cutting portion 10A of the wire saw. When the carriage 82 is moved in the direction of the arrow F2 and the stone material 80 is brought into contact with the cutting portion from the inner side of the region formed by the wire saw, the wire saw smoothly bends within the same plane.
