    摘要: A method of treating a hole formed in a catheter includes providing the catheter with an opening formed in a wall of the catheter from an external surface of the catheter to an internal surface of a lumen of the catheter such that the catheter has a sharp external edge formed between the external surface and the opening and a sharp internal edge formed between the opening and the internal surface of the lumen of the catheter. The method additionally includes pushing a proximal end of a mandrel into the opening formed in the wall of the catheter and rounding the sharp external edge of the opening formed in the wall of the catheter with a distal end of the mandrel. The method further includes maintaining the sharp internal edge formed between the opening and the internal surface of the catheter.

    摘要: A system and method is provided for quickly and accurately creating custom-fit artificial nails by introducing a secondary shaping process to pre-made nail blanks by using thermoforming method with appropriate nail tooling. The method includes measuring a natural nail and using this information to select a matching, or, close to matching, nail blank and a mold where the nail blank is thermoformed in the mold to match substantially the size and shape of the natural nail. The options available in combining pre-made nail blanks with further thermoforming allows for accommodating a wide variety of shapes and sizes of natural nails. The system and method offers the advantage of safely producing custom-fit artificial nails, which fit properly on user's natural nails within a short period of time. The system is advantageously small and suitable for use inside a nail salon.

    摘要: A process, and related structure, uses conventional palletized compositions to form the elements of a non-textile fabric by coining a single pellet or briquette of a polymer into an individual element in a single forming step. The steps of the process generally include: a) positioning a pellet in or adjacent to a mold cavity, and b) forcing the pellet into contact with the mold surfaces of the mold cavity to plastically deform the pellet to the shape of the mold cavity. The forcing step preferably uses an energy and speed where the pellet superplastically deforms to substantially fill the mold cavity. This process is repeated with the elements being formed in the appropriate order to form a non-textile fabric. The elements thus formed can have a variety of shapes, and can form base units for the formation of the non-textile fabric of two, three or more elements.
