摘要: A tire gripping device includes a chuck mechanism having a pair of chuck portions adjacent in a width direction of a tire and contact members disposed on each of the chuck portions in a circumferential manner. The contact members are able to be brought into contact with an open end portion of a bead portion of the tire. The contact members are able to enter a state of allowing relative movement with a contact surface of an open end portion in a first contact stage and enter a state of non-relative movement with the contact surface in a second contact stage subsequent to the first contact stage. The tire gripping device further includes a first driving mechanism for moving the contact members in a radial direction of the tire and a second driving mechanism for moving the pair of chuck portions in the width direction of the tire.

摘要: An elastomeric composition and method incorporating a hydrocarbon polymer modifier with improved permanence. The composition comprises elastomer, filler and silane-functionalized hydrocarbon polymer modifier (Si-HPM) adapted to couple the Si-HPM to the elastomer, filler or both, wherein the Si-HPM comprises an interpolymer of monomers chosen from piperylenes, cyclic pentadienes, aromatics, limonenes, pinenes, amylenes, and combinations thereof. The method comprises melt processing a mixture to form the elastomeric composition in the shape of an article, wherein the mixture comprises elastomer, Si-HPM, silica, bifunctional organosilane crosslinking agent; and curing the elastomeric composition to form the article. Also disclosed are a silylated hydrocarbon polymer modifier coupled with a bifunctional organosilane crosslinking agent, and a silica-coupled hydrocarbon polymer modifier coupled to the silica via the bifunctional organosilane crosslinking agent.

摘要: A tire includes a circular tire frame member formed from a frame-resin material and a covered cord member. The covered cord member includes a reinforcing cord provided in the tire frame member and extending along a tire circumferential direction, a covering-resin layer formed from a covering-resin material, covering the reinforcing cord, and bonded to the tire frame member, and a bonding-resin layer. The bonding-resin layer is formed from a bonding-resin material having an elastic modulus higher than that of the covering-resin material, is interposed between the reinforcing cord and the covering-resin layer, bonds the reinforcing cord and the covering-resin layer together, and has a layer thickness thinner than a layer thickness of the covering-resin layer.

摘要: A method for efficiently and completely removing a mold release agent adhering to a tire surface after a cure-molding process. In this method, the mold release agent is removed from an adherend region where an adherend is to be affixed to the tire surface after cure-molding. A laser light having an intensity capable of removing rubber on the tire surface in the adherend region is intermittently irradiated while it is moved along. Thus a plurality of dents are formed in the adherend region in such a manner that the adjoining dents have their edges overlapped with each other.

摘要: An underwater pelletizing method for pelletizing brittle hydrocarbon resins with low melt viscosity. A feed material comprising the hydrocarbon resin is formed into a melt, extruded through a die into a water bath below the Tg of the hydrocarbon resin to form a plurality of extrudates and cut adjacent the die surface to form a slurry of resin pellets. A graft monomer and/or other reactants, such as a hydrosilylation agent, may be introduced into the resin melt to chemically modify the hydrocarbon resin.

摘要: Apparatus and method for correcting the shape of a green tire configured so that, even if a side wall portion (S) is subjected to local crushing deformation during its temporary storage, such deformation is effectively corrected to easily improve the tire uniformity. A pressurized fluid is applied to an inner chamber of a green tire (G) having bead portions (B) held coaxially by upper and lower holders (56, 89), for setting the tread portion (T) of the green tire (G) coaxially to the bead portions (B). The side wall portions (S) is deformed outward and applied with an internal tension in the meridian direction, for correcting the shape of the green tire (G). Crushing deformation on the side wall portion (S) is thereby effectively recovered and corrected before vulcanization.
