The rubber component comprising at least a matrix of bonded rubber granules. A bonding material disposed between the facing material and the backing material. The facing material configured to melt at a temperature between 165° F. and 248° F. infiltrating the backing material thereby essentially encasing the rubber granules of the matrix and providing fire retardation and smoke suppression qualities.

摘要: Techniques for providing a carbon composite component involve providing a first carbon composite layer having carbon fibers extending along the first carbon composite layer. The techniques further involve providing a second carbon composite layer in contact with the first carbon composite layer, the second carbon composite layer having upright carbon fibers. The techniques further involve providing a third carbon composite layer in contact with the second carbon composite layer, the third carbon composite layer having carbon fibers extending along the third carbon composite layer. The carbon composite layer having upright carbon fibers increases the interlaminar strength of the resulting structure thus providing strength in all dimensions/directions and alleviating the need for additional fasteners and/or 3D carbon/carbon.

摘要: Systems and methods for filament fastener that cures with composite part. One embodiment is a method of fabricating a composite part. The method includes placing layers of reinforcement fibers over a tool to form a laminate of composite material to be cured with a first resin, forming a filament fastener comprising bundled fibers with one or more texture elements around the bundled fibers, and coating the filament fastener with a second resin that is chemically compatible with the first resin. The method also includes inserting the filament fastener into the laminate through a plurality of the layers, and curing the filament fastener within the laminate to bind the plurality of the layers of the laminate with the one or more texture elements of the filament fastener via bonding of the first resin and the second resin to form the composite part with delamination resistance.

摘要: In a preferred embodiment, a composite panel with a smooth outer surface, ready for painting with or without addition of primer, may be created by constructing a panel layup assembly upon a mold, the panel layup assembly including a composite panel having a core and a resin formulation, and a release film between the mold and the composite panel, where a smooth release surface of the release film is in contact with the composite panel upon construction; initiating curing of the composite panel at a first temperature within a lowermost ten percent of a curing temperature range of the resin formulation; continuing curing of the composite panel at a second temperature above the lowermost ten percent of the curing temperature range; and completing curing of the composite panel at a third temperature below the second temperature.

摘要: The invention relates to systems and methods for creating wound material portions for incorporation into an article of footwear. More particularly, one method of manufacturing at least a portion of an upper for an article of footwear, in accordance with the invention, includes the steps of providing a support structure, providing a fiber delivery system, tacking a first end of a first fiber onto the support structure, moving the support structure with respect to the fiber delivery system to wind the first fiber around the support structure, cutting a second end of the first fiber upon positioning of the first fiber onto the support structure, and treating at least a portion of the first fiber to fixedly hold it in a wound arrangement and form a fabric layer for incorporation into an article of footwear.

摘要: By use of a process for the production of a fibre-composite material, comprising the following steps: a) one or more fibre bundle(s) is/are drawn by way of one or more spreader device(s) into an impregnation chamber in such a way as to give at least two mutually superposed, spatially separate and spread fibre webs; b) melt is introduced by way of horizontally oriented distributor bars, in each case arranged between two fibre webs; c) the individual fibre webs are caused to converge in such a way that they are mutually superposed and contact one another; d) after the fibre webs have converged they are drawn, at the end of the operating unit, through a take-off die where the first shaping takes place, and also by use of a corresponding device, very good impregnation quality is achieved through a specific wetting method implemented after a high degree of expanding, and also through subsequent relative longitudinal and transverse movements of the individual fibres.

摘要: A method for forming a CMC article is disclosed, including forming a CMC precursor ply assembly. Forming the CMC precursor ply assembly includes laying up a plurality of CMC precursor plies and entraining a melt infiltration agent to form an entrained agent supply. Each of the plurality of CMC precursor plies includes a matrix precursor and a plurality of ceramic fibers. The plurality of CMC precursor plies and the entrained agent supply are arranged to form the CMC precursor ply assembly, which includes an article conformation. The method further includes carbonizing the CMC precursor ply assembly, infusing the melt infiltration agent from the entrained agent supply into the plurality of CMC precursor plies, and densifying the CMC precursor ply assembly with the melt infiltration agent to form the CMC article.

Also disclosed are laminated medical device constructs made from such processes.
