Abstract: A pneumatic tire includes a carcass, a tread, a belt reinforcing structure located radially outward of the carcass and radially inward of the tread, and an insert located in each sidewall. Each insert comprises a plurality of separate rib members. The carcass includes a reinforcing ply structure extending between a pair of bead portions and a pair of sidewalls. Each sidewall is located radially outward of one of the pair of bead portions.

Abstract: A tire formed from a resin material is provided having a high stress withstanding ability and capable of maintaining a high internal pressure.By configuring the side sections 14 with plural circular arc curve faced portions 32 having curvature in the circumferential direction formed successively along the circumferential direction the stress acting on the side sections 14 can be distributed at a radial direction stress and a circumferential direction stress. Accordingly, the radial direction stress can be reduced further than in a conventional profile not provided with any circular arc curve faced portions along the circumferential direction, enabling sufficient pressure withstanding ability (internal pressure) to be secured for a pneumatic tire for use on a vehicle even though a thermoplastic material with weaker stress than that of rubber is employed for the side sections 14.

Abstract: A compression sidewall tire reinforced for operation while deflated. A pair of junction portions connect the sidewalls and shoulders. Each of the shoulders extends axially outward and radially inward from the tread, and each of the sidewalls extends axially outward and radially outward from the mounting portions. The sidewalls are constrained against outward expansion by the rim and junction portions. The shoulders are reinforced with a plurality of circumferentially spaced ribs to resist movement toward the ground when the tire is deflated and under normal load. A circumferentially continuous rib may also be positioned on the exterior surface of each junction portion to further reinforce the tire.
