摘要: Methods and systems are provided for a vehicle towing a trailer. In an exemplary embodiment, one or more sensors onboard a vehicle are configured to provide sensor data, and a processor onboard the vehicle is configured to at least facilitate: monitoring a trailer sway of the trailer using the sensor data, based on one or more parameters of the sensor data representing the trailer sway and application of a band-pass filter to the one or more parameters; and mitigating the trailer sway, via instructions provided by the processor to one or more braking systems of the vehicle, the trailer, or both, when it is determined that the trailer sway of the trailer is sufficient to warrant mitigation based on the one or more parameters of the sensor data representing the trailer sway and the application of the band-pass filter to the one or more parameters.

The method comprises establishing a maximum continuous brake pressure for trailer brakes of wheels of the one or more trailers of the tractor-trailer combination. The method further comprises establishing an on-off cycling frequency for pulsing of the brakes of the one or more trailers of the tractor-trailer combination at brake pressures above the maximum continuous brake pressure. The method further comprises establishing applying the brakes of the one or more trailers continuously at brake pressures up to the established maximum continuous brake pressure and by pulsing according to the established on-off cycling frequency at brake pressures above the established maximum continuous brake pressure.

摘要: Various examples are directed to systems and methods for operating a vehicle comprising a tractor and a trailer attached for pulling behind the tractor. A center-of-mass system may determine a mass of the trailer and a tractor understeer. The center-of-mass system may determine the tractor understeer using steering input data describing a steering angle of the tractor and yaw data describing a yaw of the tractor. The center-of-mass system may determine a load center of mass using the tractor understeer and a mass of the trailer. The center-of-mass system may further determine that the load center of mass transgresses a center-of-mass threshold and send an alert message indicating that the load transgresses the load center-of-mass threshold.

摘要: A method and system for braking a trailer with a trailer braking system including receiving, at a controller, a brake request from a vehicle. The controller receives wheel speed signals from wheel speed sensors on the trailer. The controller determines a velocity of the trailer based on the wheel speed signals and determines a wheel speed based on one of the wheel speed signals. The controller compares the velocity of the trailer to the wheel speed to obtain a difference value. The controller determines that one of the wheels is unstable when the difference value exceeds a threshold. When unstable and when the brake request is received, the controller generates a braking signal to reduce the braking force on the one of the plurality of wheels.

In the brake fluid pressure control device, the vehicle includes an acceleration sensor which is configured to detect acceleration in a front-rear direction of the vehicle, acceleration, detected by the acceleration sensor, which occurs in a rearward direction when the vehicle is decelerating is detected as a positive value, and the holding control is started when it is judged that the acceleration detected by the acceleration sensor is larger than or equal to a detection acceleration threshold value and the wheel deceleration is smaller than or equal to a wheel deceleration threshold value.

摘要: A trailer brake controller and system detects absolute deceleration of a trailer by incorporating an electronic gyroscope/accelerometer combination in order to accurately calculate the deceleration subtracting out the component which is due to the force of gravity. The controller and system also receives and reads information from the towing vehicle's speed sensor. The system detects the deceleration of the trailer and sends a signal to a trailer brake activation circuit based upon an acceleration status of the trailer. In some embodiments, the system detects that the trailer is decelerating and the trailer control device sends a signal to the trailer braking system activation circuit to activate the trailer brakes. Particularly, the system is able to detect that the trailer is decelerating at an unsafe rate and to activate the trailer brakes and slow the trailer to a safe speed.

摘要: A vehicle includes friction brakes, an axle, and a controller. The axle has an electronic limited-slip differential that includes a variable torque capacity lockup clutch. The controller is programmed to, in response to a difference between desired and actual yaw rates exceeding a first threshold, increase the torque of the lockup clutch to decrease the difference between the desired and actual yaw rates. The controller is further programmed to, in response the difference between desired and actual yaw rates exceeding a second threshold that is greater than the first threshold, increase the torque of the friction brakes to decrease the difference between the desired and actual yaw rates.
