Abstract: A method for controlling a machine during a transition from a service brake state to a parking brake includes receiving, by a control module, a request for activating a parking brake assembly. The method also includes transmitting, by the control module, control signals for activating a set of first brakes associated with a service brake assembly, a set of second brakes associated with the service brake assembly, and a clutch assembly. The method further includes controlling, by the control module, the set of first brakes for deactivating the set of first brakes. The method includes controlling, by the control module, the parking brake assembly for activating the parking brake assembly. The method also includes controlling, by the control module, the set of second brakes for deactivating the set of second brakes. The method further includes controlling, by the control module, the clutch assembly for deactivating the clutch assembly.

Abstract: A motor control device is provided with: an electric motor which drives an applying mechanism for applying torque to the wheels of a vehicle, and has three coils; a drive circuit that supplies current individually to the three coils; and a controller that controls the drive circuit on the basis of the operation amount of an operating member of the vehicle, and adjusts the output of the electric motor. When the vehicle is stopped, the controller executes swing control to periodically increase or decrease the rotary motion of the electric motor, even if the constant state of the operation amount is continued after the operation amount is constant, and the power generated by the applying mechanism and the power received by the applying mechanism are equalized and the rotary motion of the electric motor has stopped.

Abstract: A method of preventing an automatic transmission vehicle from rolling downward on a hill is provided. The method includes determining whether the vehicle travels normally or abnormally on the hill based on a gradient measured by a G sensor and a direction of a wheel measured by a wheel sensor. A controller is maintained in an off state when the vehicle travels normally based on driver intention. The method further includes determining whether to operate the controller by determining a difference in wheel speed between a front wheel and a rear wheel of the vehicle when the vehicle travels abnormally as the vehicle rolls downward.

Abstract: A vehicle control apparatus and a method for controlling the same are disclosed. The vehicle control apparatus includes an inputter, a determiner, and a controller. The inputter receives an automatic vehicle hold (AVH) switch operation signal from an AVH device, and receives a current vehicle movement value sensed by a sensing device and a current vehicle brake force value of a brake device that generates brake force in response to activation of the AVH device. The determiner determines whether the received AVH switch operation signal transitions from an ON state to an AVH entry state, determines whether vehicle movement occurs on the basis of the received current vehicle movement value during an AVH retention time in the AVH entry state, and determines that the current vehicle brake force value is in an abnormal state when vehicle movement occurs. The controller receives the current vehicle movement value and the current vehicle brake force value, and transmits a command for judgment to the determiner.

Abstract: A control method for preventing backward slipping of a vehicle includes a range detection step in which a controller detects a range position of a shift lever, a gradient comparison step in which the controller compares a gradient of a road with a predetermined reference gradient when it is determined that the position of the shift lever is the D range, a stop state check step where the controller checks a brake and a driving state of the vehicle when it is determined at the gradient comparison step that the gradient of the road is equal to or greater than the reference gradient, and an inter-lock implementation step in which the controller engages multiple gears on an identical shaft when it is determined at the stop state check step that the brake is on and the vehicle has stopped.

Abstract: A vehicle control system determines an upper non-zero limit on deceleration of a vehicle to prevent rollback of the vehicle down a grade being traveled up on by the vehicle. The upper non-zero limit on deceleration is determined by the controller based on a payload carried by the vehicle, a speed of the vehicle, and a grade of a route being traveled upon by the vehicle. The controller is configured to monitor the deceleration of the vehicle, and to automatically prevent the deceleration of the vehicle from exceeding the upper non-zero limit by controlling one or more of a brake or a motor of the vehicle. The controller also is configured to one or more of actuate the brake or supply current to the motor of the vehicle to prevent rollback of the vehicle while the vehicle is moving up the grade at a non-zero speed.

Abstract: A brake control system for a motor vehicle having wheels, service brakes for supplying a service braking effort to a plurality of the wheels, sensing means for detecting standstill of the vehicle, and a parking brake engageable to supply a park braking effort to a subset of the plurality of wheels. Abstract: A valve module is provided for enabling a vehicle to control an autonomous event of the vehicle. The valve module comprises a relay valve, a first solenoid valve, and a second solenoid valve. A first control pressure can be delivered through the first solenoid valve and applied to a control port of the relay valve. In one embodiment, a second control pressure can be delivered through the second solenoid valve and combined with the first control pressure. The combined first and second control pressures are applied to the control port of the relay valve. In another embodiment, a second control pressure can be delivered through the second solenoid valve only when no first control pressure is delivered through the first solenoid valve.
