    摘要: A method of brake steering in a four-wheel drive utility vehicle having a driven front axle carrying at least two front wheels, a driven rear axle carrying at least two rear wheels, a powertrain delivering torque to the front and rear axles via a connecting shaft, independently operable service brakes on each of the front and rear wheels, and independently operable parking brakes on each of the rear wheels. The method includes, on the vehicle entering a turn, applying the service brakes of the front and rear wheels on the inside of the turn and applying also, and to a controllably varied level of braking force, the parking brake on the rear wheel on the inside of the turn.

    摘要: A vehicle drive train includes a first power disconnection device and a first driveline for transferring torque to a first set of wheels. A second driveline for transferring torque to a second set of wheels includes a differential gearset having an output coupled to a second power disconnection device. A hypoid gearset is positioned within the second driveline in a power path between the first and second power disconnection devices. The second power disconnection device includes a clutch having a first set of clutch plates fixed for rotation with the differential gearset output. The clutch further includes a second set of clutch plates fixed for rotation with a shaft adapted to transfer torque to one of the wheels of the second set of wheels. A valve limits a flow of coolant to the clutch when the second power disconnection device operates in a disconnected mode.

    摘要: A plurality of vehicle stabilizing devices which operate according to different strategies and which actuate, independently of the driver, brake actuators which are assigned to the vehicle wheels, in order to stabilize the vehicle are arranged in the vehicle. The vehicle is equipped with at least one switchable differential lock in the drive train. The differential lock assumes a non-switched operating state, a first operating state in which the differential lock is preselected, and a second operating state in which the differential lock is switched. When the differential lock assumes the first operating state, some of the vehicle stabilizing devices, other than that vehicle stabilizing device which, by actuating the brake actuators independently of the driver, prevents the vehicle wheels from locking during a braking operation, are influenced in terms of their operating mode. When the differential lock assumes the second operating state, all the vehicle stabilizing devices are influenced in their operating mode. The operating mode of the vehicle stabilizing devices is influenced in such a way that the actuation of the brake actuators which is independent of the driver does not occur.

    摘要: A wheel speed differential with another wheel of each of several wheels is determined as a parameter for brake-adjustment use, and driving torque conveyed respectively from an engine to the several wheels is adjusted by braking torque determined on a basis of the parameter for brake-adjustment use so as to restrain the wheel-speed differential. In such a driving torque control, the engine output is reduced if the braking torque is excessive. Therefore, load to the brake apparatus and drivetrain caused by engine output can be reduced. Thus, deterioration of the durability of the brake apparatus and drivetrain can be prevented.
