摘要: A method for preparing a composition with low corrosive effect and low freezing point, by mixing an ammonium cation source with a carboxyl anion source in an appropriate molar or weight ratio, either without a medium or by using an appropriate medium for obtaining liquid or water-soluble organic ammonium carboxylate of formula (1): [NR1R2R3R4]+n[R5(COO)n]−n,  (1), in which R4, R2, and R3 are selected from the group including hydrogen, substituted and unsubstituted alkyls containing 1-6 carbon atoms, R4 is a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl containing 1-6 carbon atoms, R5 is hydrogen, a substituted or unsubstituted hydrocarbon containing 1-6 carbon atoms and n is an integral 1-6 and thereafter adding possible solvent and at the same time keeping alkali or alkali-earth metal content of the composition in a range of 0.001-30 wt-%, preferably in a range of 0.001-30 wt-% and most preferably in a range of 0.001-1.0 wt-% and halide content in a range of 0.001-1 wt-% most preferably in a range of 0.001-0.1 wt-%.

摘要: A 41.degree. F. melting/freezing point NaOH in water solution employs a nucleating agent selected from the group consisting essentially of CaCO.sub.3, Fe.sub.3 O.sub.4, FeO.TiO.sub.2, SnO.sub.2, TeO.sub.2, LiAl(SiO.sub.4) and mixtures thereof. Xanthan gum may be used as a dispersant.

摘要: Aqueous solutions of LiI-LiBr containing up to about 50 weight percent LiI based on total salt are used as the refrigerantabsorbent in an air-cooled, two-pressure absorption refrigeration system. The crystallization temperatures of these solutions are sufficiently low that crystal formation will not occur when the temperature of the solution drops to ordinarily expected ambient temperatures of, for example, 100* F. Further depression of the crystallization temperature is obtained by adding ethylene glycol or glycerine to the mixed salt solution.

摘要: A heat-regenerative separator and method which uses a heat-regenerative element having a heat-regenerative material at phase-change temperature to impart to or receive from an input fluid latent heat of separation thereby causing separation from said input fluid a product of a phase different than the input fluid which product will subsequently be withdrawn from the separation area in a withdrawal fluid when said heat-regenerative material receives from or imparts to said withdrawal fluid latent heat of decomposition of said product into said withdrawal fluid, said method comprising alternating passage of input fluid and withdrawal fluid in heat-exchange relation with said heat-regenerative element.

摘要: The present application pertains to liquid-liquid phase transition compositions and processes. In one embodiment a liquid-liquid phase transition process comprises first forming a composition comprising a glycol polymer and water and then phase transitioning the composition at or above the composition's cloud point temperature to form at least two liquid phases. The enthalpy of liquid-liquid phase transition may be greater than 5 kJ per kg as measured by a calorimeter and each liquid phase may have unique and advantageous properties. In another embodiment the application pertains to compositions suitable for liquid-liquid phase transition compositions.
