    摘要: An internal combustion engine includes a pre-chamber. In another aspect, pressure within a pre-chamber is equal to or greater than pressure within a main combustion chamber at least prior to ignition in the main combustion chamber. A further aspect provides a supplemental piston creating pressure and supplying a fuel-air mixture into a pre-chamber, and a spark or glow plug has an end located within the pre-chamber for ignition of the mixture therein. In yet another aspect, internal combustion engine control software automatically controls pressure within a turbulent jet ignition pre-chamber, controls a valve-actuator to admit a fuel-air charge into the pre-chamber, and causes an ignitor to initiate combustion in the pressurized pre-chamber. This also permits the rate of combustion to be controlled in the primary chamber regardless of the air-fuel ratio or the diluent fraction in the main chamber. Another aspect employs a pre-chamber purge pump with separate air and fuel injection. Moreover, an additional aspect separately supplies unmixed air and fuel into a turbulent jet ignition pre-chamber through a dual-mode, single injector unit.

    摘要: To suppress current fluctuations upon commencement of driving and prolong lifespan by reducing electric stress caused by current fluctuations.A glow plug 1, a glow switch 2, and a stabilizing coil 3 are series-connected, and upon commencement of the driving of the glow plug 1, a repetition frequency of PWM signals that control the opening and closing of the glow switch 2 is made into a higher frequency than a repetition frequency in a normal drive state and the opening and closing of the glow switch 2 is controlled (S104), and when a predetermined drive shift condition has been met (S106), the repetition frequency of the PWM signals is returned to the frequency during normal driving and the opening and closing of the glow switch 2 is controlled (S108), whereby the current upon commencement of driving is smoothed and the occurrence of an instantaneous large current is suppressed.

    摘要: A method for controlling the ignition point of a fuel/air mixture in an internal combustion engine by at least one corona discharge starting from an electrode, wherein at least one of the corona discharges is ignited at a crankshaft angle between 400° and 200° before the top dead center, with which the power stroke starts, by applying an ignition voltage to the electrode(s), and the energy input of the corona discharge or of the corona discharges is controlled by adapting the burn time of the corona discharge and the strength of the ignition voltage. The fuel/air mixture ignites at a crankshaft angle between 30° and 5° before the top dead center, with which the power stroke starts, and 50% of the fuel of the fuel/air mixture is combusted at a crankshaft angle between 6° and 10° after the top dead center point, with which the power stroke starts.
