摘要: A method for determining the quantity of filling components in a cylinder of an internal combustion engine. The cylinder is connected to an air supply via an inlet valve and to an exhaust gas conduit via an outlet valve. The method includes the steps of obtaining an exhaust gas back pressure at a specified point in time when the outlet valve is opened during a work cycle of the internal combustion engine and calculating the quantity of the filling components at the specified point in time on the basis of the obtained exhaust gas back pressure. A controller is also provided for carrying out the method and a motor vehicle is also provided that includes the controller.

摘要: It is an object of the present invention to provide a control device for an internal combustion engine capable of appropriately controlling compression ratio and ignition timing before the target compression ratio that is set according to humidity is attained. A control device for an internal combustion engine controls the internal combustion engine including a cylinder, humidity detection means for detecting humidity of outside air supplied to the cylinder, a variable compression ratio mechanism for changing a compression ratio of the cylinder, and an ignition device igniting air-fuel mixture in the cylinder, and the control device includes: a compression ratio control unit controlling the variable compression ratio mechanism; and an ignition control unit controlling ignition timing of the ignition device, wherein corresponding characteristics between compression ratio and ignition timing are determined for each humidity according to a predetermined condition of an operation state of the internal combustion engine, the compression ratio control unit determines a target compression ratio of the variable compression ratio mechanism according to the detected humidity, and while the variable compression ratio mechanism changes a compression ratio to the target compression ratio, the ignition control unit controls the ignition device on the basis of corresponding characteristics determined according to the detected humidity.

摘要: A system according to the principles of the present disclosure includes a first burn duration module and a spark control module. The first burn duration module determines a first duration of at least a portion of a fuel burn within a cylinder of an engine from a first time when a first predetermined percentage of a mass of fuel within the cylinder is burned to a second time when a second predetermined percentage of the fuel mass is burned. The spark control module controls a spark plug to adjust spark timing of the cylinder based on the first burn duration.

Thus, the heat generation rate waveform is produced using the estimated first-half combustion period a.
