    摘要: An apparatus for correcting an imbalance in a rotating shaft and a method for correcting the imbalance in a rotating shaft. The joint assembly includes a first joint member that is drivingly connected to at least a portion of second joint member via one or more torque transmission elements. At least a portion of a first shaft is drivingly connected to at least a portion of a first joint member and at least a portion of a second shaft is drivingly connected to at least a portion of a second end portion of the second joint member. A boot can is connected to at least a portion of a first end portion of the second joint member and one or more balancing elements are attached to at least a portion of the boot can.

    摘要: In at least one implementation, a joint for coupling two shafts in a vehicle driveline includes a joint part having a bore defining part of a fluid chamber, a boot member coupled to the joint part and defining at least part of the fluid chamber and having a valve portion that has an open state and a closed state, and an insert. The insert may be received adjacent to the boot member and defines at least part of a vent path that communicates the fluid chamber with the valve portion. When the valve portion is in the closed state venting from the vent chamber is inhibited or prevented and when the valve portion is in the open state the vent chamber is communicated with a venting space.

    摘要: A constant velocity universal joint includes a body which encloses the constant velocity joint components and provides a smooth outer surface. A semi-rigid plastic boot has a spherical surface sized to generally match the outer surface of the body. The material of the boot is sufficiently elastic to allow the boot to fit over the body, yet sufficiently resilient to snap the open end closed after the boot is placed over the body to provide a substantial seal preventing entry of debris under the seal. A retaining ring is positioned on the boot near the truncated end, the ring establishing the location of an elastic seal that contacts the outer surface of the body.

    摘要: A propeller shaft includes a first shaft, a second shaft, a slide joint, a bearing, an annular member, and a first stopper portion. The annular member is placed between an outer peripheral surface of a thin shaft portion and an inner peripheral surface of the bearing. The annular member is configured such that the bearing is fitted to the annular member. An outer peripheral surface of the annular member has a diameter larger than a diameter of a first shaft portion extending on a shaft-body-portion side relative to the annular member provided on the thin shaft portion. The first stopper portion is placed at a position on a side closer to a shaft body portion than the annular member provided on the thin shaft portion. The first stopper portion is configured to prevent an axial movement of the annular member toward the shaft body portion.
