    摘要: An apparatus for storing liquid air (a cryogenic mixture of about 80% liquid nitrogen and about 20% liquid oxygen) in a stable condition within a storage vessel by providing a heat exchanger in fluid communication with vaporized liquid air within vessel condense the vaporized liquid air back to liquid form. This will result in condensing the nitrogen-rich vapor into the mass as a liquid, thereby reducing ullage pressure, cooling the mass, and ultimately precluding oxygen-enrichment through boil-off. A cryocooler may be mounted externally to the vessel and in fluid communication with an interior of the vessel to condense liquid air vaporized within the vessel. The system may be used to supply air to safe haven areas of a mine or building, or piped in through a building HVAC system and/or mounted on vehicle.

    摘要: The present invention provides for an integrated valve regulator assembly that comprises an integral body having a base portion that includes an axis for mounting on and coaxially with the neck portion of a pressurized source vessel and an assembly outlet, a defined internal passage in the integral body that extends through and between the base portion of the integral body and the assembly outlet, a sub-atmospheric pressure regulator assembled within the integral body of the integrated valve regulator assembly, an isolation valve positioned within the defined internal passage of the integral body and located downstream from and in communication with the sub-atmospheric pressure regulator, and a filling port disposed between the axis for mounting on and coaxially with the neck portion of the pressurized source vessel and the sub-atmospheric pressure regulator. The present invention further provides for a system for the controlled storage and dispensing of a hazardous material at sub-atmospheric pressure that comprises a pressurized source vessel and the integrated valve regulator assembly of the present invention. The present invention further provides for an additional integrated valve regulator assembly as described with the exception that the pressure regulator utilized is for super-atmospheric pressure conditions and also a system that comprises a pressurized source vessel and the integrated valve regulator assembly that includes a super-atmospheric pressure regulator.

    摘要: A method and apparatus for the controlled storage of liquefied gases such as liquefied natural gas in an enclosed insulated container, in which part of the liquid is withdrawn and fed to an external refrigeration unit for subcooling and the subcooled liquid is reintroduced into the container via one or more valve-controlled headers under the control of a control system operated in response to pressure and temperature signals from within the container, wherein the level of subcooling is matched to the heat inleak into the container and most or all of the subcooled liquid is reintroduced directly into the stored liquid so as to maintain stable conditions in the stored liquid and to minimise evaporation thereof.

    摘要: A cryostat arrangement for keeping liquid helium comprising an outer shell (2), a helium container (6) installed therein and a neck pipe (4) extending from the helium container to the outer shell whose upper warm end is connected to the outer shell and whose lower cold end is connected to the helium container, wherein the outer shell, the helium container and the neck pipe define an evacuated space (13) containing a radiation shield (15) surrounding the helium container and being connected at a coupling to the neck pipe in a heat-conducting fashion, wherein a refrigerator is installed in the neck pipe having a cold finger (5a) which consists of at least one pipe and projects into the neck pipe, is characterized in that at least one pipe of the cold finger is surrounded by at least one separating body (3a) which divides the neck pipe into two partial volumes (8a and 9a) which are connected to one another through a lower opening (10a) and an upper opening (7a). A cryostat arrangement of this type with active cooling through refrigerators shows considerable improvements over conventional cryostats with respect to thermal properties. In particular, it is possible to completely stop consumption of liquid helium.

    摘要: Disclosed is a technique whereby when multi-component liquefied gases such as liquefied natural gases (LNG), liquefied petroleum gases (LPG) or the like which are different in composition, density or the like are stored in the same storage tank, any stratification of the liquefied gases within the storage tank is prevented.The introduction of the liquefied gas into the storage tank is accomplished in such a manner that the introduced gas enters the storage tank in the form of a jet of liquefied gas which is shoot out from near the tank bottom obliquely upwardly with an ascending vertical angle in a predetermined range and reaches or comes near to the free surface within the storage tank, and in this way the desired mixing of the introduced liquefied gas with the liquefied gas previously existing in the storage tank is effected as soon as the introduced liquefied gas enters the tank.
