Abstract: A dew point corrosion resistant heat exchanging system having a plurality of hollow heat transferring tubes through which cooler ambient air or hot combustion product gases flow. The other of the air or gas flows across the outer surfaces of the tubes, and heat is transferred from the hot gases to the ambient air, thus heating the air. A portion of the tubes includes an inner liner forming an air pocket chamber between the liner and the outer wall of the tube. The air pocket chamber provides heat transfer advantages that maintain the tubes at a temperature above the dew point of the gases in the system, thus inhibiting corrosion of the tubes.

Abstract: A dry heat exchanger coil having a plurality of straight inner tubes connected by a plurality of return bends. The return bends are located outside of the air flow passing over the coil. The inner tubes are situated within a corresponding outer or “safety” tube. The outer tubes do not contain and are not connected to return bends, but the ends of the outer tubes are located outside of the air flow path. Leaks in the inner tubes are captured by the outer tubes and the leaking fluid will flow in the space between the inner and outer tubes, flow out the end of the outer tube, to be captured in a drip pan at the bottom of the coil housing. Leaks occurring in the return bends will also be captured in drip pan.

Abstract: The present invention is a cross-flow evaporator adapted to generate vapor from the heat of the exhaust gases from an internal combustion engine. The evaporator is constituted, among other elements, by two plates spaced from one another which contain chambers. The heat exchange tubes alternately communicate the chambers of both plates, establishing a specific path for the fluid intended to change phase. The tubes extending between the chambers of the two plates are arranged transverse to the flow of the hot gas. This evaporator is suitable for heat recovery systems using a Rankine cycle, making use of the heat from the exhaust gases.The invention is characterized by a special configuration of the walls which prevents the crack failure or damage caused as a result of the differential expansion between the exchange tubes and said walls.

Abstract: The present invention provides a heat exchange apparatus used as a cooling apparatus for hydraulic oil that operates a hydraulic machine. A heat exchange apparatus includes multiple embedded tubes through which a heat medium passes, are installed in the interior of a shell having thermal fluid, such as hydraulic oil, passing therethrough to allow a heat exchange between the heat medium and the thermal fluid. The shell of the heat exchange apparatus includes coupling the multiple tubes to closure thin plates that are a metal plate cut or bent in a predetermined shape, combining the closure thin plates in a box form, and forming a synthetic resin coating layer on the exterior surfaces of the closure thin plates. Thus, the heat exchange apparatus achieves productivity improvements and manufacturing cost reductions while ensuring performance including pressure resistance and air tightness, and durability.

Abstract: A device for exchanging heat between first and second fluid streams is disclosed. The device includes a core housing configured to channel the first stream through heat exchange elements and out through a first half exhaust port. A shell housing encloses the core housing and is configured to channel the second stream past the heat exchange elements, the shell housing being isolated from the core housing by a space.
