摘要: A total heat exchange element includes a plurality of partition members made of a material that contains cellulose as a main component, a spacing member made of a material that contains cellulose as a main component, and an adhesive portion bonding the partition members and the spacing member together. The partition members are configured as flat sheets, and are stacked with a predetermined distance between them. The spacing member is disposed between adjacent ones of the stacked partition members to maintain the distance between them. The total heat exchange element has a first air flow path and a second air flow path alternately formed with one of the partition members interposed between the first and second air flow paths. The adhesive portion contains, as an adhesive component, cellulose having a smaller diameter than both of the cellulose forming the partition members and the cellulose forming the spacing member.

摘要: An aircraft heat exchanger arranged longitudinally and including a casing with an inner chamber configured so that coolant flows longitudinally from an inlet to an outlet, a plurality of laterally spaced longitudinally extending inner chamber plates, and a plurality of channels defined between contiguous plates. Each plate includes a leading edge oriented towards the inlet and configured to divert coolant towards the channels. A plurality of the plates include an inner hollow area configured to conduct a flow of hot bleed air therethrough. Leading edges of a first group of plates are arranged in a stepped pattern. A gap defined between the first group of plates and a first casing lateral wall establishes a fluid coolant communication through the first group of plates between the casing inlet and outlet. The lateral distance between each leading edge of the first group of plates and the first lateral wall decreases longitudinally.

摘要: A heat exchanger for providing thermal energy transfer between a first flow along a first flowpath and a second flow along a second flowpath has at least one plate bank having a plurality of plates, each plate having: a first face and a second face opposite the first face; a leading edge along the second flowpath and a trailing edge along the second flowpath; a proximal edge having at least one inlet port along the first flowpath and at least one outlet port along the first flowpath; and at least one passageway along the first flowpath. An inlet manifold has a first face to which the plurality of plates are mounted along their respective proximal edges. An inlet plenum has at least one inlet port and at least one outlet port. An outlet plenum has at least one outlet port and at least one inlet port. The first flowpath passes from the at least one inlet port of the inlet plenum, through the at least one passageway of each of the plurality of plates, and through the at least one outlet port of the outlet plenum. For each plate, the manifold first face has a respective associated slot capturing a portion of the plate along the proximal edge thereof to prevent extraction of the plate normal to the manifold first face.

摘要: A heat exchanger is provided. The heat exchanger provides a first plurality of tubes and a second plurality of flow passages which furcate near one of the first and second manifolds into two or more furcated flow passages and subsequently converge to exit the heat exchanger. The plurality of furcated flow passages are intertwined, reducing the distance between flow passages containing each fluid therebetween to improve thermal transfer. Further, the furcations create changes of direction of the fluid to re-establish new thermal boundary layers within the flow passages to further reduce resistance to thermal transfer.

The first inlet duct has a plurality of first feed channels extending towards and fluidly connected to the plurality of first fluid channels. The second inlet duct has a plurality of second feed channels extending towards and fluidly connected to the plurality of second fluid channels. The plurality of first feed channels are interwoven with the plurality of second feed channels proximate an intersection region between the first inlet duct and the second inlet duct.

摘要: An air compressor system having a pair of heat exchangers which in one form can be an oil cooler and an aftercooler. The pair of heat exchangers can be a bar and plate heat exchanger type and which are aided in the heat transfer process by a fan the provides a source of cooling air. In one form the pair of heat exchangers can include internal passages that, when viewed relative to each other between each of the pair of heat exchangers, are arranged in a cross flow arrangement. A source of cooling fluid may traverse through respective faces of the heat exchangers while passages internal to the heat exchangers carry the respective fluid (e.g. oil or compressed air). Inlets and outlets of the heat exchangers can be arranged on opposite corners of each other.
