Abstract: An obstacle detection device including: a plurality of ranging sensors configured to transmit ultrasonic waves and receive reflected waves thereof, and disposed on a vehicle to be spaced in a vehicle width direction; a camera disposed on the vehicle and configured to acquire an image corresponding to detection areas of the plurality of ranging sensors; and a control circuit configured to detect an obstacle around the vehicle, based on the reflected waves received and the image. The control circuit is configured to detect an obstacle, based on the image acquired by the camera during a predetermined period between transmission of an ultrasonic wave by a first ranging sensor and reception of a first reflected wave thereof, the image being acquired for a detection area of a different ranging sensor other than the first ranging sensor.

Abstract: A system for analysis of sonar data is provided comprising sonar transducer assembl(ies), processor(s), and a memory. The memory includes computer program code that is configured to, when executed, cause processor(s) to receive sonar data, where an object is represented within sonar data, and additional data from a data source other than the sonar transducer assembl(ies). The processor(s) further determine object characteristic(s) of the object using sonar data and additional data, and determine an estimated object-type for the object represented within sonar data using the object characteristic(s). The processor(s) further generate a sonar image based on sonar data, cause display of the sonar image, and cause provision of an indication of the estimated object-type so that the indication of the estimated object-type is correlated to the object representation in the sonar image.

A device is configured with at least one surroundings sensor system and at least one control unit with an assigned memory to acquire successive values of distances from adjacent motor vehicles during a parking process and to store them in a map of the surroundings. The device may be designed in such a way that, before the start of the process of exiting a parking space, current values of distances from the adjacent motor vehicles are acquired and compared with the distance values stored in the map of the surroundings, wherein, when they correspond, a parking-space-exiting trajectory is made available by means of the map of the surroundings.

Abstract: A liveness detection method includes: obtaining a reflected audio signal and video data of a object in response to receiving a liveness detection request; performing signal processing and time-frequency analysis on the reflected audio signal to obtain time-frequency information of a processed audio signal, and extracting motion trajectory information of the object from the video data; respectively extract features from the time-frequency information and the motion trajectory information to obtain an audio feature and a motion feature of the object; calculating first global attention information of the object according to the audio feature, and calculating second global attention information of the object according to the motion feature; and fusing the first global attention information with the second global attention information to obtain fused global information, and determining a liveness detection result of the object based on the fused global information.

Abstract: A system (1) is provided. The system comprises two primary sensor units (10) and two secondary sensor units (20). Abstract: A guide system is provided that uses a plurality of sensors to identify and determine a clear path for an ambulatory vision impaired person. The system includes one or more wheels that rotate to propel the system, a platform supported by the one or more wheels and housing a processor, a rigid harness with a haptic feedback grip that is positioned to be grasped by an operator, and one or more sensors configured to sense information about the environment. In operation, the processor analyzes information sensed by the sensors to identify object in the path of the guide system and sends messages to the operator to allow the operator to avoid the identified objects. The messages may be sent to the operator via the haptic feedback grip or audibly via a speaker or via a wireless connection to a haptic or audio device being worn by the operator.

Abstract: A plurality of images can be acquired from a plurality of sensors and a plurality of flattened patches can be extracted from the plurality of images. An image location in the plurality of images and a sensor type token identifying a type of sensor used to acquire an image in the plurality of images from which the respective flattened patch was acquired can be added to each of the plurality of flattened patches. The flattened patches can be concatenated into a flat tensor and add a task token indicating a processing task to the flat tensor, wherein the flat tensor is a one-dimensional array that includes two or more types of data. The flat tensor can be input to a first deep neural network that includes a plurality of encoder layers and a plurality of decoder layers and outputs transformer output. The transformer output can be input to a second deep neural network that determines an object prediction indicated by the token and the object predictions can be output.

Abstract: Range finding methods and apparatus that may be implemented by VR/MR systems that include a head-mounted display (HMD) and an accessory that the user holds or wears. Range finding sensors (e.g., ultrasonic transducers) may be included on the HMD and on the accessory and used to track distances to and relative position of walls, objects, and other obstacles within constrained physical environments such as rooms, gyms, yards, or fields, or in unconstrained physical environments. Range finding information from the sensors on the HMD and accessory can be used to generate a 3D map of the user's environment that can be used for various purposes in the VR/MR system. In addition to mapping the user's environment, the range finding methods and apparatus may also be used to track the relative position of the accessory with respect to the HMD.
