    摘要: An arrangement to control equipment over a common network. A serial network transfers commands, and receives data from a plurality of distributed locations. Equipment located at each location executes tasks based on control information received over the network. Each equipment includes a memory which contains data to identify to the serial network, the identity of functions carried out by the equipment. Sensors may be located at some of the locations for generating data for transmission over the network. Each sensor also has a memory which identifies the sensor to the serial network. The plurality of modules connecting each of the equipment and the sensors to the network are configured to read the memory contents to carry out the function identified of the connected equipment or sensor.

    摘要: An electronic module that dampens torsional oscillation of an object rotating in a horizontal plane in a system that includes a motor control. The electronic module includes a memory that is configured to store a mass-dependent value of the object or of rotating parts of the system, a housing, and a processor that is positioned within the housing. The processor is configured to receive a mass-dependent value of the object, store the mass-dependent value of the object in the memory, calculate a torsional oscillation dampening signal using an algorithm that is based at least in part on the mass-dependent value of the object or of the rotating parts of the system, and transmit the torsional oscillation dampening signal to the motor control thereby dampening torsional oscillation of the object rotating in the horizontal plane.

    摘要: A crane monitoring system and method is characterized by a plurality of sensors mounted to a crane which communicate data to an on-board control unit. The control unit is characterized by having “black box” functionality. A tip switch is mounted in parallel relation to the vertical portion of a hoist cable below the boom tip. The control unit processes and stores input data from the sensors which will indicate unsafe crane conditions, defined as alarm events such as dragging and extrication events. Each stored event has a time and date stamp. Upon detection of an alarm event, the control unit logs data from the sensors into a non-volatile memory, along with the data from a period of time prior to the alarm event. Data is stored continuously until the alarm event clears. Additional data is stored for a period of time after the conclusion of the alarm event. This results in a discrete event log residing on the non-volatile memory which can subsequently be accessed by authorized personnel for analysis and identification of the crane operator who caused the alarm event.

    摘要: A motor controller that incorporates all of the advantages of RS-485, yet allows the user to interface with the controller through RS-232 without a separate RS-232 to RS-485 converter. The controller includes a port for receiving RS-232 compatible signals. The RS-232 signals are converted to RS-485 compatible signals which are, in turn, converted into logic level signals suitable for the motor controller. The RS-485 signals may be shared among a number of controllers, and an RS-485 port is provided for such a purpose. RS-485 ports can be interconnected via a common bus so that a number of motors can be separately controlled from a master controller (usually a personal computer) that is connected to any available RS-232 port.
