Abstract:
A method and system (20) is provided for condition based monitoring reliability maintenance capabilities for an asset (70), such as one or more machines, by establishing a network including of a sensor (60) or a plurality of sensors installed, temporarily or in generally fixed locations, on asset (70), wherein sensor (60) provides time sequenced operational information in the form of data based on vibrations, temperature, electrical signals, or other operating conditions. Sensors (60) are connected to a local controller (40) which transmits the data via a local or wide area network (45), either through wired or wireless communication paths, in data packets, each containing divided portions of the operational information. The data packets are mapped and stored into multiple, dedicated databases for ease of retrieving and analyzing the data. Preferably, a cloud-based storage arrangement (120) is employed to storing the mapped data.

In addition, a communication portion 57 for communicating via the network 6 is installed in the terminal device 5.
Abstract:
A supply information management system (710) comprises a reader/writer (711) for writing process information on each of the processes to an IC tag (5) and reading information out from the IC tag (5), the reader/writer being provided for a station for performing each of processes to supply a diaper product with an IC tag (5), and a host computer (715) for receiving the information from the reader/writer (711). In the host computer (715), a product database which is a set of data elements each associating a serial number of an IC tag (5) with process information thereof is stored and updated on the basis of the information from the reader/writer (711). The supply information management system (710) makes it possible to specify an individual diaper product and perform a proper and easy management of information on supply of diaper products.
Abstract:
A system and methods for vehicle build information management in an assembly plant are disclosed. Once example method includes receiving, from a first information source, identification information for at least one vehicle being assembled in the vehicle assembly plant. The method further includes receiving, from a second information source, build instructions describing at least one work process to be performed for the at least one vehicle. The method further includes receiving, from a third information source, inventory information identifying a plurality of components required to comply with the build instructions. Finally, the method further includes sending for display, to a user interface, a visual representation of at least two of the identification information and the build instructions and the inventory information.
Abstract:
Accurate device-condition information of and relating to a number of devices to be managed are collected in an efficient manner. The number of devices to be managed are divided between a direct collection group comprised of some managed devices whose device-condition information are collected by detecting operation by a portable (mobile) unit for device condition detection on each one of these managed devices and an indirect collection group comprised of the other managed devices whose device-condition information are collected by communication between each one of these managed devices and a stationary unit disposed to be capable of detecting the device-condition information of the device.
Abstract:
A method of managing manufacturing production includes determining a plurality of products for manufacture using a production line is disclosed. Each product is specified by composition and production line steps and criteria. Production orders for products are analyzed to determine whether products should be grouped into product-types, and whether product (type) should be made-to-stock or made to order. Queuing theory based analytic methods and optimization based heuristics are used to determine the priority for each product in the production line, taking product substitution opportunities in batch-production into account. Preselected points along the production line are determined for gathering an amount of inventory for each product. This decision is made considering product-differentiation down the line. An established inventory policy for each product at preselected points along the production line requires that inventory is reviewed and an order is placed for additional inventory when on hand inventory reaches a predetermined reorder point.
Abstract:
A method for tracking multiple SKUs of ophthalmic devices in a manufacturing line, comprises the steps of: assembling first molding devices, at least one of the first molding devices having an identification device, such as, a bar-code or an inductive transmitting/receiving device; reading the identification device of the first molding devices; forming first molded parts using the first molding devices; providing a plurality of carriers, the carriers having carrier indicators; transferring the first molded parts to at least one of a plurality of carriers; reading the carrier indicator of the carrier carrying the first molded parts; and storing in machine-accessible memory the information associated with the identification device of the first molding devices and the information associated with the carrier indicator of the carrier carrying the first molded parts.
Abstract:
A system is provided for reducing and managing the inventory of lasts needed for footwear production which comprises a foot sizing device for determining foot sizing data by empirically measuring a plurality of feet at a footwear sales location, a data processing device logically coupled to the foot sizing device for receiving the foot sizing data from the foot sizing device, and a statistical trend analysis mechanism logically coupled to the data processing device for analyzing the foot sizing data received by the data processing device and for identifying foot sizing data groups whereby efficient manufacture of footwear lasts according to empirical foot sizing needs may be achieved. The system may include an inventory control feedback mechanism logically coupled to the data processing device which provides last inventory status information on demand. A method of inventory management is provided for footwear and last manufacture which comprises the steps of creating an automated foot sizing database including foot sizing data automatically inputted from a plurality of point of sale locations and from a plurality of measured feet, adding new foot sizing data to the automated foot sizing database each time a foot is measured, analyzing foot sizing data in the automated foot sizing database to identify foot size data groups, assigning inventory control values to each of the foot size data groups and utilizing the inventory control values to determine economical footwear last inventory needs according to the foot size data groups.
Abstract:
Dimensioning systems may automate or assist with determining the physical dimensions of an object without the need for a manual measurement. A dimensioning system may project a light pattern onto the object, capture an image of the reflected pattern, and observe changes in the imaged pattern to obtain a range image, which contains 3D information corresponding to the object. Then, using the range image, the dimensioning system may calculate the dimensions of the object. In some cases, a single range image does not contain 3D data sufficient for dimensioning the object. To mitigate or solve this problem, the present invention embraces capturing a plurality of range images from different perspectives, and then combining the range images (e.g., using image-stitching) to form a composite range-image, which can be used to determine the object's dimensions.
Abstract:
An inventory system can include radio frequency identification (RFID) tags and RFID tuners that can be brought into interacting proximity with one another to provide input or other information about the location or other condition of movable elements within the inventory system. For example, interactions of RFID tags and RFID tuners at different locations within an inventory system may be utilized to associate a container or other movable object with particular receiving surfaces at particular points in time to facilitate identification of the whereabouts of the container or other movable object.
