    摘要: A write head is provided for writing a servo pattern to a magnetic tape storage medium. The write head comprises at least a first write gap (A) and a second write gap (B), the first write gap (A) and the second write gap (B) being separately energizable. The second write gap (B) comprises at least a first section (a) and a second section (b). The first section (a) is designed such that an energization of the second write gap (B) causes a magnetic flux across the first section (a) insufficient for changing a magnetization of a track of the magnetic tape storage medium (TP) passing the first section (a) of the second write gap (B). The second section (b) is designed such that an energization of the second write gap (B) causes a magnetic flux across the second section (b) sufficient for magnetizing a track of the magnetic tape storage medium (TP) passing the second section (b) of the second write gap (B).

    摘要: A computer disk drive transducer head having spatially separated read and write heads is provided. The transducer head reduces or eliminates servo errors during write operations by positioning the read head of the transducer away from the write head. This spatial separation prevents the disruption of magnetic domains in the read head, and in particular in the magnetoresistive element and the shields in the immediate vicinity of the magnetoresistive element. The present invention further provides a method for reducing servo errors during write operations by spatially separating the read and write heads by a distance sufficient to limit the strength of a magnetic field produced in the read head during a write operation to no greater than the strength of a magnetic field produced in the read head by the magnetic disk.

    摘要: It is an object of the present invention to decrease imbalance of a recording magnetic field of a read/write head generated due to leakage of an erase magnetic field of an antecedent erase head, and to decrease the error rate at a time of reading data. The number of turns of a second read/write coil generating a magnetic field for recording data having one polarity in a direction opposite to that of a leakage magnetic field generated by an erasing coil is made smaller than that of a first read/write coil generating a magnetic field for recording data having the other polarity in the same direction as the leakage magnetic field, whereby rise time of a recording electric current flowing in the second read/write coil is shortened and a magnetic field thus generated is made stronger than the magnetic field generated by the first read/write coil, thus reducing the influence of the leakage magnetic field so as to enable uniform writing of data having both polarities and decreasing an error rate at a time of reading the recorded data.
