In other embodiments, the gauge includes either a universal paper indicator or a chemically coated cartridge indicator in communication with the battery and adapted to change in color to indicate venting of the battery.

    摘要: A valve regulated lead-acid battery of the present invention includes a battery container provided with a plurality of cells, and a battery lid mounted over an opening of the battery container. The battery lid includes an exhaust chamber having an exhaust hole provided in the bottom and communicating with the cell, and an injection chamber having an injection hole provided in the bottom and communicating with the cell. The exhaust chamber includes a plate shaped valve body contacting with the bottom of the exhaust chamber and covering the exhaust hole, a sheet having elasticity and arranged on the valve body, and a top plate fixed to the battery lid and covering the sheet. The injection chamber includes a plug body for blocking the injection hole.

    摘要: A simple, optimized lead-acid battery includes a stack of a plurality of film pouches, each containing positive and negative electrode elements and separators. The pouches are prepared by folding an elongate film strip, and collector tabs are provided for the electrodes at either end of the stack. Electrode pairs intermediate the ends of the stack are electrically connected through adjoining openings in the pouch walls, e.g. be welding. In the most preferred embodiment, an integral vent is formed from flaps cut in the film strip and the pouch edges and top are heat sealed for electrolyte containment.

    摘要: A vent valve for electric energy cells requiring pressure relief capability for gases formed within the cells due to overcharging or other circumstances includes a cover plate for the internal structure of the cell which contains a central relief aperture. A vent cap is affixed to the cover plate with one or more vent ports being provided. A resilient seal is provided between the vent cap and the cover plate for controlling the release of the gases, the seal being die-cut of a suitable corrosion-resistant material and having two parallel plane surfaces which contact the cover plate and the closed end of the vent cap when the cap and plate are joined. The seal is preferably of a polygon configuration and its vertices contact the walls of the cap for fixed positioning. The vent path for the gases is through the aperture in the cover plate, between the cover plate and the resilient seal, and out through the vent ports.
