摘要： A case-neutral electrochemical cell has an electrode assembly comprising a separator positioned between an anode and a cathode housed inside a casing. The casing supports a co-axial glass-to-metal seal comprising an inner insulating glass hermetically sealed to a terminal pin and to the inner annular surface of an inner ferrule. An outer insulating glass is hermetically sealed to the outer annular surface of the inner ferrule and the inner annular surface of an outer ferrule, and the outer ferrule is secured to an opening in the casing. Then, one of the anode and the cathode is connected to the terminal pin and the other of the anode and the cathole is connected to the first or inner ferrule. An electrolyte is provided in the casing to activate the electrode assembly.

摘要： An embodiment of the present invention relates to a cylindrical secondary battery comprising: a cylindrical can having a bottom surface and a side portion extending from the bottom surface, one end of the side portion being open to form an opening; an electrode assembly accommodated in the can; and a cap assembly including a gasket which is inserted into the can with the electrode assembly inserted in the can to come into contact with the electrode assembly, and a cap plate which is disposed on the gasket and is electrically connected to the electrode assembly, wherein the can has, at the edge of the opening, a curling portion which presses the gasket to bring the gasket into contact with the cap plate.

The isolating part (7) is arranged in the terminal through-hole (2b) to electrically isolate the can end wall (2a) from the terminal part (4). An inner corner (2d) that is formed where an inner peripheral surface (2c) meets an inner surface (2f) of the can end wall (2a), is blunted and has a surface free from edges having edge angles of less than 100 degrees. The disclosure also relates to a method for attaching a terminal part to the shaped can end wall (2a) in a process of assembling the cylindrical secondary cell (1).
