摘要： The present disclosure relates to a cap assembly and a secondary battery. The cap assembly includes a cap plate provided with an electrode lead-out hole; an electrode terminal, covering the electrode lead-out hole and including a main body, wherein the main body is provided with a recess on a side wall; an isolating member including a receiving portion, wherein the main body is received in the receiving portion; and a protrusion, connected to an inner wall of the isolating member and extending towards an axis of the electrode lead-out hole, wherein the protrusion is received in the recess so as to prevent the main body from rotating relative to the isolating member. The cap assembly according to the embodiments of the present application can improve an overcurrent capacity and stability of the electrode terminal.

A foam structure may be positioned between the end cap and the enclosure structure or within a hollow passageway of the end cap for increasing the structural integrity of the traction battery pack.

The housing may include a can and a cover welded to one another to form a flange of the housing. The cover may be generally planar, and the can may include a curved portion and a planar portion extending from the curved portion. The planar portion may be welded to the cover to form the flange. A weld seam between the can and the cover may begin generally at an end of the planar portion of the can adjacent to the curved portion, and the flange may be cut along or adjacent to the weld seam. In particular, a distance between a transition point of the curved portion of the can and an outermost end of the flange may be less than 300 microns.

摘要： Various embodiments of the present invention relate to a secondary battery. A technical problem to be solved is to provide a secondary battery in which, when a can is compressed in a lateral direction thereof, a bending direction thereof is controlled such that a cap assembly (or a circuit interrupt device (CID)) is bent in an opposite direction of an electrode assembly and an electrical short-circuit phenomenon between the cap assembly and the electrode assembly can be thus prevented. To this end, the present invention provides a secondary battery comprising: a cylindrical can; an electrode assembly received in the cylindrical can; and a cap assembly for sealing the cylindrical can, wherein the cap assembly comprises a cap-down having a notch for inducing bending, which allows the cap assembly to be bent in an opposite direction of the electrode assembly when the cylindrical can is compressed in a direction perpendicular to a longitudinal direction of the cylindrical can.
