摘要: In one example, techniques of this disclosure may enable a point of local repair (PLR) network device to signal availability of link protection or node protection to a merge point (MP) network device and enable a network device to actively determine whether or not it is a merge point router. Based on whether or not the network device determines it is a MP, the network device may selectively clean up LSP states when there is an upstream link or node failure. The RSVP-TE protocol may be extended to enable a network device to send a tear down message to a downstream router, which may enable the downstream router to conditionally delete locale LSP state information. In some instances, a PLR network device may directly send a tear down message to a MP network device even though the PLR network device may not have a working bypass LSP.

摘要: Methods and systems for resource reservation networks configured to maintain low latency and latency variation of co-shared sessions. A session creation module (SCM) creates a bi-directional parent session (Sp), between first and second session partners, by: allocating co-shared network resources over a first network hop, and allocating network resources over a second network hop; wherein the network resources allocated to the Sp guarantee a maximum end-to-end latency variation (e2eLV) below 100 usec. The SCM further calculates a maximum e2eLV of a potential bi-directional derivative session (Sd) between the first session partner and a third session partner; wherein the potential Sd utilizes network resources over a third network hop and the co-shared network resources over the first network hop. And the SCM creates the Sd responsive to determining that the maximum e2eLV of the Sd being below 100 usec.

A session creation module (SCM) creates a bi-directional parent session (Sp), between first and second session partners, by: allocating co-shared network resources over a first network hop, and allocating network resources over a second network hop. The SCM further creates a bi-directional derivative session (Sd) between the first session partner and a third session partner, by: allocating network resources to the Sd over a third network hop, and not allocating specifically for the Sd all the network resources required for the Sd over the first network hop.

摘要: A method implemented by an apparatus for providing spare capacity allocation (SCA) for dual link failures in a network. The SCA scheme computes the SCA for each of a plurality of flows in the network for a plurality of primary backup paths corresponding to a plurality of disjoint working paths for the flows using a first integer linear programming (ILP) model. The SCA scheme further computes the SCA for each of the flows for a plurality of secondary backup paths corresponding to the disjoint working paths and the primary backup paths using a second ILP model and the computed spare capacity information for the primary backup paths. The SCA scheme further aggregates the computed SCA for the primary backup paths and the secondary backup paths for all the flows.

摘要: A reservation request is received for a data transport session. The reservation request contains a requested class of communication service through the asynchronous network. The state of the network along the route is then preferably determined and at least one end-to-end route through the network is obtained. The route is based on the requested class of communication service and the state of the network. The data transport session is then controlled, such that data is forced to travel along at least one route through the asynchronous network. This is preferably done by controlling multiple data controllers dispersed along the at least one route by mapping specific data protocols to specific routes, or mapping specific data protocols to specific ports in each data controller. If a state of the asynchronous network indicates that the route cannot transport data in conformity to the class of communication service, then the route is changed to a backup route through the network.

摘要: Aspects of the invention may provide a system and method for access point aggregation and resiliency in a hybrid wired/wireless local area network. Access point aggregation and resiliency may include determining one or more available switch ports having a capability to handle a first access point group, the first access point group having a first default switch port. One or more available switch ports may be provisioned to provide service to the first access point group. Information may be communicated between the first default switch port and/or any of the provisioned switch ports, while maintaining client status and connection information. Available switch ports may be selected from a reserved pool of available switch ports and upon abatement of a need to utilize the provisioned switch ports, the provisioned switch ports may be returned to the reserved pool of available switch ports.

摘要: This invention related to a bandwidth estimation method which is easily implementable on network nodes and enables to be made better routing decisions (for example the link with higher residual bandwidth should be favored in routing decisions) and/or estimates the flow admission control (for example accept a new flow only if there is enough available path residual bandwidth) by enabling estimation of availability of the communication capacity estimates.

摘要: Methods and systems are provided for connecting an electronic device to a network. In some situations, the electronic device connects to a first network provider and pings a first server having a static internet protocol address and a second server having a dedicated uniform resource locator. If the electronic device receives a response from the first and second server, the electronic device maintains its connection to the first network provider. Otherwise, the electronic device connects to a second network provider and pings the first and second servers.
