History data identifying the cells in which the user communications device has been present whilst in the idle state is maintained. This history data is used by the user communications device or by a network communications device to enable adjustment of cell selection/reselection parameters for the user communications device in the active state.

摘要: Disclosed solutions for edge processing for a mobile device, such as an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) having a first and second cellular modems, include: determining that loss of a first connection between the first cellular modem and a first cell of a cellular network is imminent (e.g., within 500 milliseconds); determining that the mobile device is in range to connect to a second cell; based on at least determining that the mobile device is in range to connect to the second cell and that the loss of the first connection is imminent, initiating a second connection between the second cellular modem of the mobile device and the second cell; and based on at least determining that the second connection is complete, terminating the first connection. This permits use of the cellular connections for command and control of a UAV with minimal risk of disruption during handovers.

摘要: A method is disclosed for improved tracking area planning and handling, comprising: assigning a single tracking area code to a plurality of eNodeBs at a messaging concentrator gateway, the messaging concentrator gateway situated in a network between the plurality of eNodeBs and the core network; storing, at the messaging concentrator gateway, at least one indicator of a last known location of a user equipment (UE) other than the single tracking area code; receiving a paging message from the core network at the messaging concentrator gateway for a UE; and performing a paging sequence using the at least one indicator to identify a set of eNodeBs to page the UE, thereby allowing larger tracking area list sizes to be used without increasing signaling traffic between the radio access network and the core network.

The pattern of association can be used to identify a next network device that a mobile device will transition to, based on which network device the mobile device is currently connected to. Data, such as authentication information, can be pushed to the identified next network device to reduce network connectivity issues that may occur by transitioning between network devices.

摘要: The present disclosure relates to the field of wireless communication technology, and in particular, to a handover control method and device. The existing handover mechanism may cause the problem that too frequent handover measurement of a terminal increases the energy consumption of the terminal, negatively impacting the power saving of the terminal. A source satellite base station of the embodiments of the present disclosure receives auxiliary information reported by a terminal, determines at least one candidate satellite base station according to satellite base station orbital map information of the current region and the auxiliary information, and returns a handover command to the terminal according to the at least one candidate satellite base station, so that the terminal determines, according to the handover command, a target satellite base station to which the terminal is to be handed over, and is handed over from the source satellite base station to the target satellite base station. As the embodiments of the present disclosure provide a handover procedure for source satellite base station decision triggering, a terminal does not need to frequently measure the current serving base station and an adjacent base station, thereby simplifying the handover procedure and reducing the energy consumption of the terminal.

A cloud network controller may receive from multiple access points (APs) in a mesh network information related to channel quality based on measurements taken by the APs. Based on this information, the cloud network controller may forecast one or more optimal channels based on the information related to channel quality. The cloud network controller my then send to the multiple APs a message including a recommendation to switch to the one or more optimal channels based on the forecasting. The AP may then make a decision to carry out the recommended channel switch.
