摘要: A unit container for a treatment fluid comprises a sealed enclosure of which one wall section thereof is formed with at least one opening. The enclosure is pressuriseable to discharge its contents thorough the opening or openings, which is or are of sufficient diameter to enable the generation of a jet and/or discrete droplets of treatment fluid discharged therefrom. The one wall section is typically a flat section of the enclosure wall, and the enclosure is typically a blister pack, with the wall section at a planar base of the blister. However the one wall section may be dome-shaped and formed with at least one opening in the top region of the dome. Containers of the invention may be provided in packages, for example in strip form or in planar arrays. Dispensing devices are described for discharging their content in treatment.

摘要: A system and method for monitoring individuals using voice print matching to match monitored speech with stored voice prints is disclosed. Voice prints of individuals are obtained and stored in a central repository for use by authorized agencies or other entity that monitor voice communications. The digitized voice prints may be used to identify the speakers being monitored. If the conversation being monitored causes the monitor, based on their predetermined alert criteria, to suspect the speakers of illegal activity, such as, for example, terrorism, or otherwise cause the monitor to seek additional information about the speakers, the monitor may access information associated with the voice print and retrieve the information associated with those individuals so that this information may be passed along to the appropriate agency or organization for further action.

摘要: An applicator for liquid scalp medicine is provided. The applicator includes a reservoir to which a plurality of hollow tines is connected, each tine having a resilient, flexible tip at its end. An aperture is formed in each of the flexible tips, for adjusting the amount of medicine flowing through the aperture in response to pressure applied by the flexible tip against the scalp. The aperture is a slit formed in the surface of the tip. The aperture closes when no pressure is applied by the tip against the scalp. The flow of medicine is thereby stopped. The applicator may be refillable, and may be either a single unit dose applicator or an applicator capable of carrying multiple doses.

摘要: A soft contact debridement tip for use with hand-held wound debridement devices. The soft contact debridement tip of the present invention provides concurrent irrigation and suction to the area to be debrided. The soft contact debridement tip includes a foam end having an opening for providing irrigation and suction to the area to be debrided. Advantageously, the foam end of the present invention facilitates the removal of excess fluid at the debridement site, and at the same time alleviates pain and discomfort associated with wound debridement. The soft contact tip of the present invention is adapted for single use, and is easily attached and detached from a hand-held debridement device.

摘要: A method and apparatus for presbyopia correction via combination of a surgical and pharmacological means are disclosed. The pharmacological means is to either nulltriggernull or enhance the contraction effect after a surgical method for larger accommodation and/or for more stable post-surgery results. In addition, the invention discloses that lower dose range is especially useful in providing eye drugs that is low enough to be both safe and effective when used together with the surgical methods. The preferred embodiments for the surgical methods to remove a portion of the sclera tissue include lasers at wavelength of (0 19-0.36) um and (0.9-3.2) um and the non-laser device of radio frequency wave, electrode device, bipolar device and plasma assisted device. The preferred embodiment for pharmacological means includes the use of pilocarpine hydrochloride, phosphorothioate, physostigmine or other beta-adrenergic propanolamines.

摘要: The medical instrument for the application of liquids to teeth includes a handle portion and a treating portion, the treating portion comprising a highly elastic sponge. In a preferred embodiment, the treating portion is connected to the handle portion by a ball joint. The use of a sponge allows an optimum application of the liquid on and in cavities without leaving residual material. The presence of a ball joint allows a safe treatment also in locations that are difficult to access otherwise.
