    摘要: Acoustic wave sensors comprise: a piezoelectric layer, first and second electrodes arranged with the piezoelectric layer in a piezoelectric transducer circuit; and a polymeric sensing layer for adsorbing a gas-phase analyte, the adsorption of which analyte causes a change in resonant frequency of the piezoelectric transducer circuit, wherein the polymeric sensing layer comprises: (a) a polymer chosen from substituted or unsubstituted: polyarylenes comprising the reaction product of monomers comprising a first monomer comprising an aromatic acetylene group and a second monomer comprising a cyclopentadienone group; polyamides; polypyrazoles; or novolacs; or a cured product thereof; (b) a polymer chosen from substituted or unsubstituted: polyamic acids; or polyamic acid-polyimide copolymers; (c) a polymer formed from one or more monomers comprising a monomer comprising a polar group-substituted arylcyclobutene group, or a cured product thereof; or (d) a polymer comprising polymerized units of a monomer chosen from substituted or unsubstituted: maleimides; or norbomenes; or a cured product thereof. The acoustic wave sensors and methods of using such sensors find particular applicability in the sensing of gas-phase analytes.

    摘要: Solid polymerizable diacetylenic monomer compositions, including compositions co-crystallized from a diversity of solvent systems under diverse cooling conditions, can exhibit diffraction patterns associated with the color development reactivities of the compositions. High reactivity compositions are disclosed and high reactivity and low reactivity phases can be identified. A low angle powder X-ray diffraction peak can indicate the presence of one or more crystal phases in a composition. A fingerprint region can exhibit fingerprint patterns of diffraction peaks associated with different reactivities. Information about polymerization of the diacetylenic monomers is disclosed using 13C nuclear magnetic resonance (“NMR”) characterization. Diacetylenic monomer compositions useful in ambient condition indicators, for example time-temperature indicators are disclosed.

Further, the polymerizable reactive group contains an aromatic ring and at least one ethynyl or vinyl group directly bonded to the aromatic ring as the polymerizable functional group, and the number of carbon atoms derived from the aromatic ring is in the range of 15 to 38% with respect to the number of total carbon atoms of the polymerizable compound.

C. The cyclopentadiene polymers prepared according to the invention may be used, for example, as resin additives for surface coatings, tackifiers in adhesives or resins for printing inks.
