    摘要: The present invention provides a device for feeding pulverized coal to a furnace, such as a drop tube furnace. The feeding system consists of a feed hopper, a pneumatic vibrator positioned on the periphery of the feeder hopper, a needle valve arrangement in the said feed hopper, a depth gauge micrometer, a distribution chamber with primary and secondary airline at the bottom of the said feed hopper. Adjusting the pressure of compressed air allows setting of the frequency of vibration of the pneumatic vibrator. The needle valve arrangement in conjunction with the vibratory hopper controls the feed rate. The rate of coal flow is measured by the depth gauge micrometer. The distribution chamber with primary and secondary airline at the bottom of the said feed hopper allows uniform mixing of air with coal before being charged into the furnace reactor.

    摘要: A solid fuel burner comprises a system which permits solid fuel to be injected into a burner chamber and intermixed in an air suspension. The burner includes a cast iron, stepped grate that is self-cleaning, and comprises a series of plates that are substantially horizontal and are vertically spaced apart to form steps. Air is introduced under the stepped plates and the air blows out into the combustion chamber through the spaces between the plates to aid in combustion and cause turbulence in the fuel introduced. The burner further includes a "pin hole" grate adjacent the stepped grate on which lighter materials will fall and will be also subject to an air stream for complete combustion, and efficient burning.

    摘要: An inclined hearth combustor which generally includes a primary combustion chamber having a plurality of stepped hearths, a secondary combustion chamber in communication with the primary combustion chamber and a boiler having an inlet in communication with the secondary combustion chamber. The secondary combustion chamber includes a refractory-lined cyclone separator for removing fly ash from combustion gases exiting the primary combustion chamber and the boiler inlet is surrounded by the cyclone separator. The primary combustion chamber may further include an ash transfer ram movably disposed between two stepped hearths, wherein the ash transfer ram includes a top layer of refractory material extending rearwardly from a leading edge thereof. The ash transfer ram may further include a plurality of V-shaped wheels attached to a bottom surface thereof, a replaceable wear plate disposed on a side surface thereof and/or a wiper blade fixed on a forward face thereof. At least one hearth may include two spaced rows of air feed-tubes longitudinally embedded therein for delivering a combustion gas into the combustion chamber. The air-feed tubes may intersect with an air distribution plenum for simultaneously delivering the combustion gas to the air feed-tubes. The primary combustion chamber may further include a reciprocating loader ram movably disposed on the top surface of the top-most hearth for pushing combustible material on the top-most hearth, wherein the loader ram has a bottom surface and at least one longitudinally extending replaceable wear strip disposed thereon.

    摘要: An inclined hearth combustor which generally includes a primary combustion chamber having a plurality of stepped hearths, a secondary combustion chamber in communication with the primary combustion chamber and a boiler having an inlet in communication with the secondary combustion chamber.     摘要: Improvements for an incinerator system including double reburn tunnels, an excitor within a reburn tunnel, a choker for closing off part of a reburn tunnel, a grate near the incinerator's inlet to permit the drying and initial combustion of refuse, an ash scoop which remains out of the water during most of its operation. The use of dual reburn tunnels, along with a damper that permits the closure of at least one of them, permits the efficient and environmentally acceptable utilization of the main incinerator chamber even with minimal refuse contained there. With less refuse, only one reburn unit operates; it will still have sufficient heat and throughput to maintain, with minimal auxiliary fuel, the temperatures needed for complete combustion. An excitor, or solid stationary object placed within the reburn tunnel, permits the retention and reflection of the heat generated by the burning to assure complete combustion of all hydrocarbons within the reburn unit. Additionally, the air utilized in the reburn unit may enter through the excitor for the efficient distribution and concomitant combustion.

    摘要: A bio-mass burner having a continuous feed on demand to a first combustion chamber that contains a hollow grate structure. The novel method of operation includes the use of at least one venturi tube which is in fluid communication with the hollow grate structure to establish an air flow into a second combustion chamber. Primary air to support combustion in the first chamber is supplied to the underside of the grate structure. Secondary air to support combustion in the second chamber is supplied through the hollow grate structure and then to the venturi tube in a sufficiently tortuous path through the first combustion chamber to insure that the air is superheated at the outlet of the venturi tube. A baffle arrangement in the first combustion chamber directs the fuel product toward the grate structure and assists in preventing any unburned gases from being ejected into the atmosphere.
