Abstract:
The present invention addresses the problem of providing an electron beam generator and an electron beam applicator for which maintenance is facilitated. The electron beam generator comprises a vacuum chamber, a photocathode holder, an activation vessel, and an internal motive power transmission member. The photocathode holder is capable of moving relative to the activation vessel.
Abstract:
An X-ray generation device which can be efficiently used is provided. The X-ray generation device has an electron gun, a target unit, a tubular portion, a reflected electron detector, and a coil unit. The target unit includes a plurality of targets and a plurality of mark portions having a predetermined relationship with the targets, wherein each mark portion having a surface area larger than a surface area of the target when said target unit is viewed from a direction which is normal to principal faces of the target unit.
Abstract:
A cathode assembly is for use in a radiation generator and includes an ohmically heated cathode, and a support having formed therein a hole and a recess at least partially surrounding the hole. In addition, there is a mount coupled to the support. The mount includes a larger outer frame positioned within the recess, a smaller inner frame carrying the ohmically heated cathode and spaced apart from the larger outer frame, and a plurality of members coupling the smaller inner frame to the larger outer frame.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a cathode structure intended to be inserted into an electron gun for a cathode-ray tube. The cathode comprises a cathode body on the end of which is placed an emissive pellet, the cathode body being held in place inside a sheath by supporting means which comprise: a first series of branches, each branch being connected on one side to the cathode body and on the other side to an intermediate piece 30; and a second series of branches, each branch being connected on one side to the sheath and on the other side to the same intermediate piece.
Abstract:
Disclosed are a process for fixing a filament onto a support in an incandescent lamp in which the filament is prevented from being deformed when it is welded onto a support and also a filament supporting structure to be established by the process. The filament fixing process comprises wrapping a foil body around each supporting end portion of a filament; squeezing the wrapped foil body together at positions close to each end thereof to form a cylindrical portion and a fin-like portion protruding from the cylindrical portion; and welding the cylindrical portion onto a support (e.g. a support wire or a supporting piece of a shade) for the filament such that the fin-like portion of the foil body may be situated within the distance or range corresponding to the diameter of the cylindrical portion as measured from the surface of the support.
Abstract:
A multi-column fluorescent display tube having a filament cathode provided opposite to a plurality of fluorescent display sections, which comprises at least a filament damper made of an insulating material low in thermal conductivity and having contact sections for supporting and stretching the filament cathode under tension at the middle portion of the filament cathode, and filament damper supporters so formed that it can prevent electrification of the surface of the filament damper.
Abstract:
The invention relates to an electric incandescent lamp comprising a planar filament which is stretched in a frame construction of which a transverse support forms part which is resiliently movable relative to the longitudinal supports of the frame construction by means of two helical springs.
Abstract:
An electric discharge lamp comprising a tubular lighttransmitting envelope of alumina ceramic closed at each end by refractory metal end caps. The envelope contains a discharge sustaining filling and electrodes supported by the end caps. At least one end cap is a thin-walled metal thimble having a skirt portion sealed to the end of the tube and a central blind teat in which the electrode shank is seized. The need for critical welding or brazing to the end cap is thereby avoided.
