摘要: Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to a refrigeration system that includes a compressor configured to circulate refrigerant along a refrigerant loop, a motor configured to drive the compressor, and a variable speed drive coupled to the motor and configured to supply power to the motor. The variable speed drive includes a primary winding of a step down transformer coupled to an alternating current (AC) power source, a first secondary winding of the step down transformer, where the first secondary winding is configured to supply power at a variable supplied voltage to the motor when the motor operates below a threshold voltage, and a second secondary winding of the step down transformer, where the second secondary winding is configured to supply power at a fixed supplied voltage when the motor operates at or above the threshold voltage.

摘要: A PCB motor controller comprises relays mounted on a PCB and interconnected to power traces in or on the PCB to receive incoming three-phase power and to output three-phase power to a motor. Control power traces in or on the PCB connect the relays to control circuitry, also mounted on the PCB. A power supply is mounted on the PCB and connected to the control circuitry to provide power for its operation and for switching of the relays. The relays are switched in accordance with a point-on-wave (POW) switching scheme, allowing for the use or relays and the PCB, which may not otherwise be suitable for motor control applications.

摘要: A motor and a driving circuit thereof are provided. The motor driving circuit includes a controllable bidirectional AC switch connected with a winding of the motor between two terminals of an AC power supply; and first and second position sensors. The first position sensor and the second position sensor are respectively configured to detect positions of magnetic poles of the rotor. The first position sensor and the second position sensor output magnetic pole position signals having opposite phases when detecting a same magnetic pole of the rotor. At a rest position of the motor, the first position sensor and the second position sensor are respectively arranged with an advance angle with respect to a connection line crossing centers of opposite magnetic poles of the rotor, to make the motor have large starting torque.

摘要: Enhanced common mode current reduction in three-phase inductors, transformers, and motor drive systems. A motor drive system includes an iron core transformer, a common-mode transformer coupled to a three-phase motor, and a variable speed drive providing a three-phase power signal to drive the three-phase motor, and coupled to the iron core transformer and the common mode transformer. The system includes a DC bus having a DC bus midpoint. The common-mode transformer includes a toroidal ferrite core, a first choke winding, a second choke winding, a third choke winding, a first coupling winding collocated with the first choke winding, a second coupling winding collocated with the second choke winding, and a third coupling winding collocated with the third choke winding. The first, second, and third coupling windings are coupled in parallel to one another. The coupled windings couple a neutral point of the iron core transformer to the DC bus midpoint.

摘要: A load control device to control current flow to an AC load includes a circuit having line-side switches and floating-neutral side switches, along with a controller connected to the circuit that is programmed to control the circuit so as to cause each of the line-side switches and each of the floating-neutral side switches to switch between an On condition or an Off condition to selectively operate the circuit in an active mode and a free-wheeling mode. A full phase voltage is provided to the AC load during the active mode and a zero voltage is provided to the AC load during the free-wheeling mode. The controller applies a modulating function to the circuit, so as to modulate a supply voltage to control a frequency and an average of a load voltage present across terminals of the AC load, thereby enabling variable frequency operation of the AC load.
