摘要: An apparatus to separate water droplets from an air stream. The apparatus includes an elongated tube, a reservoir, and a helix structure. The elongated tube has a first end, a second end, a longitudinal axis, an inner surface, an inlet opening at the first end of the elongated tube, the inlet opening arranged to accept the air stream tangentially relative to the longitudinal axis, and an outlet opening at the second end of the elongated tube. The reservoir is positioned at a second end of the elongated tube. The helix structure is positioned within the elongated tube and includes an upper surface, a lower surface arranged opposite the upper surface, an outer edge, and a variable pitch along a length of the elongated tube, the variable pitch providing a variable interior angle between an inner wall of the elongated tube and the upper surface of the helix structure.

摘要: A cyclone sand separator includes a cyclone body having an inlet, a fluid outlet, and a solids outlet. The inlet is configured to receive a mixed fluid including a solids portion and a fluids portion. The solids outlet is configured to receive the solids portion separated from the fluids portion. The fluid outlet is configured to receive the fluids portion separated from the solids portion. The cyclone sand separator also includes a plurality of inlet inserts having different geometries. The inlet inserts are each configured to be positioned at least partially in the inlet. The inlet inserts are rigid and configured to be fixed in place at least partially in the inlet, such that the inlet inserts do not move with respect to the inlet. The cyclone sand separator also includes a flange configured to be coupled to the selected inlet insert.

摘要: A turbine engine having a compressor section, a combustor section, a turbine section, and a rotatable drive shaft that couples a portion of the turbine section and a portion of the compressor section. A bypass conduit couples the compressor section to the turbine section while bypassing at least the combustion section. At least one particle separator is located in the turbine engine having a separator inlet that receives a bypass stream, a separator outlet that receives a reduced-particle stream flows, and a particle outlet that receives a concentrated-particle stream comprising separated particles. A conduit, fluidly coupled to the particle outlet, extends through an interior of at least one stationary vane.

There is also provided a gas cooling-scrubbing method.

摘要: A combustion system, particle separator and feed system for a combined heat and power system is provided. The system includes a combustion chamber configured to directly combust solid organic material. A combustion system is provided having a pressure vessel and a combustion chamber. The combustion chamber is disposed within the pressure vessel with a space therebetween. A conical plenum is disposed within the combustion chamber that distributes fuel to a perimeter of the combustion chamber. Plenum tubes extend from the conical plenum are configured to lift and suspend the solid organic material and induce a cyclonic flow within the combustion chamber. A port is coupled between an air source and the space, wherein during operation, air flows from the air source through the port and into the space to provide a thermal break between the combustion chamber and the pressure vessel.

摘要: An in-line fitment for connection of a filter to a pipe includes first and second fluid-carrying portions and a non-fluid-carrying spacer. Each fluid-carrying portion includes a socket for receiving an open end of a pipe and a connector for connection of the filter. A screw compression fitting is provided on each of the sockets of the first and second fluid-carrying portions for forming a sealed connection with the open ends of the pipe. The socket of the first fluid-carrying portion has a pipe receiving depth greater than that of the socket of the second fluid-carrying portion for enabling movement of the fitment parallel to the pipe when engaged with one of the open ends of the pipe. The sockets of the first and second fluid-carrying portions are positioned on a common axis and facing away from each other when the fluid-carrying portions are linked by the spacer.
