    摘要: A joining structure includes: a first tube made of a first metal or alloy; a second tube made of a second metal or alloy different from the first metal or alloy; a coupling member having a cylindrical shape to provide therein a passage into which the first and second tubes are insertable, and having an opening on a side face thereof to penetrate into the passage; and a brazing material injected into the passage through the opening with an end face of the first tube and an end face of the second tube abutting on each other in the passage to braze the first tube, the second tube, and the coupling member. The second metal or alloy is more easily oxidizable than the first metal or alloy during brazing. An abutting position between the first and second tubes is deviated from the opening toward the second tube.

    摘要: Systems for tube-to-tube connections are described herein. A device having an aperture for receiving a tube may comprise: an inlet portion comprising a first diameter, the inlet portion located at an inlet of the aperture; a braze filler collector portion located axially adjacent to the inlet portion comprising a second diameter, the second diameter being greater than the first diameter; a necked portion located axially adjacent to the braze filler collector portion comprising a third diameter, the third diameter being less than the first diameter and the second diameter; a flow surface comprising a fourth diameter, the fourth diameter being less than the third diameter, the flow surface defining a void; and a collection pocket located axially adjacent to the necked portion, the collection pocket configured to collect a braze filler material from the necked portion to prevent the braze filler material from contacting the flow surface.

    摘要: A method of fabricating an electric generator main lead bushing is provided for attaching a flange to a hollow conductor. In one application typically used for an air side flange, a gap is formed in the flange that is sized to receive an end of the conductor, a groove is formed in the conductor end, a braze alloy insert is placed into the groove, the conductor end is inserted into the gap, and the flange and the conductor are heated and cooled to provide a seal between the flange and the conductor. In another application typically used for a gas side flange, a counterbore is formed in an inner portion of the hollow conductor that is sized to receive the flange, a groove is formed in the counterbore, a braze alloy insert is placed into the groove, the flange is fitted into the counterbore, and the flange and the conductor are heated and cooled to provide a seal between the flange and the conductor.
