    摘要: A flat reinforcer has the shape of a multicomposite strip defining three main perpendicular directions, the axial direction (X), the transverse direction (Y) and the radial direction (Z), having a width WR measured along the Y direction of between 2 and 100 mm and having a thickness TR measured along the Z direction of between 0.1 and 5 mm, the aspect ratio WR/TR being greater than 3. The multicomposite strip comprises at least a plurality of monofilaments made of composite material, orientated along the X direction, comprising filaments of a mineral material (101) embedded in a thermoset resin (102), the glass transition temperature of which, denoted Tg1, is greater than 70° C. The plurality of monofilaments are coated in a layer of thermoplastic material (12); and all or some of these monofilaments are flat, of cross section having a width WM measured along the Y direction and having a thickness TM measured along the Z direction, with an aspect ratio WM/TM greater than 1.5.

    摘要: An elastomeric article can include an elastomeric body that is at least partially formed from an elastomeric material. The elastomeric body can include a first surface portion and a second surface portion facing opposite the first surface portion. A first plurality of reinforcing elements can be embedded within the elastomeric body between the first and second surface portions. The first plurality of reinforcing elements can have a first end and a second end opposite the first end with the first plurality of reinforcing elements having a non-linear pattern formed therealong between the first and second ends thereof. As examples, the elastomeric article can at least partially form one of pneumatic or non-pneumatic tire, a flexible spring member of a gas spring assembly and/or a turnup bladder dimensioned for securement on an associated tire building machine. Methods of manufacturing an elastomeric articles are also included.

The invention further pertains to a tire comprising a plurality of apex components and carcass ply turn-ups that terminate within the apex region of the tire. The invention also discloses a tire wherein the carcass ply turn-ups terminate in the upper sidewall region of the tire and ply spacers are located between ply-turn-ups.

    摘要: The present invention is directed to a pneumatic tire with a built-in sealant layer composite where the composite is composed of polyurethane with a thin layer of at least one of particulate filler, short fibers and non-woven microfiber. In one embodiment, said polyurethane sealant composite is comprised of a plurality of circumferentially extending layers comprised of a first polyurethane sealant layer, a second polyurethane sealant layer and a thin layer of polyurethane sealant-containing non-woven microfiber positioned between said first and second polyurethane layers. In another embodiment, said polyurethane sealant is a composite comprised of a polyurethane sealant layer containing a thin layer of at least one of particulate filler and short fibers.

    摘要: A pneumatic tubeless tire comprising a carcass ply of reinforcing cords extending between two tire bead regions through sidewall regions and a tread region and an innerliner disposed radially inwardly of the carcass ply is herein described. Between the sidewall region and the tread region is a tire shoulder region. In each of these shoulder regions, there is a circumferentially extending ply support strip disposed radially between the carcass ply and the innerliner. The ply support strip comprises a rubber compound containing short discontinuous fibrillated aramid fibers in an amount of between 7 and 15 parts by weight per 100 parts by weight of rubber.

    摘要: A pneumatic tire for off-road vehicles comprising a reinforcing element composed of helically formed filaments and having an excellent side-cut resistant property is disclosed. The tire is provided at its side portion with a side portion reinforcing layer composed of at least one rubberized layer containing a reinforcing element embedded therein and formed of a helically formed filament or a bundle of at least two helically formed filaments assembled together without twisting at random. The filament is formed of a material having a tensile breaking strength of at least 140 kg/mm.sup.2. The reinforcing filament has an elongation at tensile breaking strength which is 0.15 to 1.7 times that of organic cord of a ply of a carcass body. The rubberized layer containing said reinforcing element embedded therein as a whole is extensible.

    摘要: A pneumatic radial tire comprising a carcass, and a belt interposed between a tread and the carcass composed of at least two main cord layers whose cords are formed of an inextensible material such as a steel cord is disclosed. The tire further comprises at least one rubberized reinforcing layer interposed between the belt and the carcass and containing reinforcing elements. The reinforcing element is formed of a helically formed filament or a bundle of a plurality of helically formed filaments. The filament has a tensile breaking strength of at least 140 kg/mm.sup.2 and elongation at tensile breaking strength which is at least 1.2 times the smallest elongation at tensile breaking strength of the main cord layers of the belt. The rubberized reinforcing layer as a whole is extensible and compressible.
