摘要: Described herein are transition metal complexes containing nickel(II), as the central metal atom, and tridentate and tetradentate ligands. The transition metal complexes also include an ancillary ligand with strong σ-donating properties. The ancillary ligand enhances the luminescence by increasing the chances of populating the emissive state. The transition metal complexes are emissive at room temperature and/or low temperature in various media, rendering them useful as light-emitting materials for OLEDs.

摘要: In this disclosure, a method or kit for using the method of extracting, concentrating, and detecting microbes from a sample is disclosed. The method disclosed herein use transition or rare earth metal-based magnetic ionic liquids (MILs) to extract viable microbes from a sample and to detect them via an amplification-based method and/or a non-amplification-based methods. The method and kit can be used in-field and on-site for detection of viable microbes in a sample within about an hour, without using any powered heat source or powered tool.

摘要: A branched olefin polymer, a preparation method therefor and the use thereof are provided. The branched olefin polymer is obtained by polymerizing at least one C4-C20 nonterminal olefin monomer with optional ethylene, propylene, and C4-C20 terminal olefin monomers; and the branched olefin polymer has the following characteristics: (a) a molecular weight of 20000 to 500000 g/mol; (b) a molecular weight distribution of 3.5 to 6.0, and a bimodal structure characterized by GPC; (c) a melting point of 0° C. to 110° C. and a glass-transition temperature of −80° C. to −50° C.; and (d) having 20 to 200 methyl groups per 1000 methylene groups.

摘要: Provided herein are homoleptic metal coordination complexes that induce cellular apoptosis and cell cycle arrest in G0/G1 phase in fungus, such as Candida spp. Also disclosed are methods of inhibiting fungal growth and methods of treating fungal infections using the disclosed compounds. The disclosed compounds exhibit anti-Candida activity against fluconazole resistant and sensitive strains of C. albicans at low concentrations.

摘要: An apparatus and method is provided for coating a surface of a material with a film of porous coordination polymer. A first substrate having a first surface to be coated is positioned in a processing chamber such that the first surface is placed in a substantially opposing relationship to a second surface. In some embodiments, the second surface is provided by a wall of the processing chamber, and in other embodiments the second surface is provided by a second substrate to be coated. The first substrate is held such that a gap exists between the first and second surfaces, and the gap is filled with at least one reaction mixture comprising reagents sufficient to form the crystalline film on at least the first surface. A thin gap (e.g., having a thickness less than 2 mm) between the first and second surfaces is effective for producing a high quality film having a thickness less than 100 μm. Confining the volume of the reaction mixture to a thin layer adjacent the substrate surface significantly reduces problems with sedimentation and concentration control. In some embodiments, the size, shape, or average thickness of the gap is adjusted during formation of the film in response to feedback from at least one film growth monitor.

摘要: In an embodiment, the present disclosure pertains to a method of sensing an analyte in a sample by: (1) exposing the sample to an electrode that includes a covalent-organic framework with a plurality of metal-coordinated aromatic units that are linked to one another by aromatic linkers; (2) detecting a change in a property of the electrode; and (3) correlating the change in the property to the presence or absence of the analyte. In an additional embodiment, the present disclosure pertains to said covalent-organic frameworks. Additional embodiments of the present disclosure pertain to methods of making the covalent-organic frameworks.

摘要: Disclosed are a pincer-type ligand having a structurally rigid acridane structure and a metal complex consisting of the pincer-type ligand and a metal bound to each other, and exhibiting high reactivity and stability during a variety of bonding activation reactions. T-shaped complexes can be prepared from acriPNP(4,5-bis(diisopropylphosphino)-2,7,9,9-tetramethyl-9H-acridin-10-ide), which is a pincer-type PNP ligand having an acridane structure, and metal complexes, which can be structurally rigid and thus exhibit excellent reactivity and stability based on minimized structural change thereof, can be prepared by introducing an acridane structure into the backbone thereof. The PNP ligand is structurally stable and has novel chemical properties, as compared to conventional similar ligands, and thus can be utilized in a wide range of catalytic reactions and material chemistry.
