摘要: The present invention is directed to methods of producing algal biomass and algal cell cultures, and lipid compounds and compositions thereof, including fatty acids, carotenoids and fat soluble vitamins. The present invention is further directed to methods of preparing related food products and industrial and pharmaceutical compositions. In various exemplary embodiments, the methods comprise growing algae in a juice based medium, including a medium that contains natural nitrogen or a medium that is free of chemical additives and preservatives, to produce algal cell cultures, algal biomass, algae derived lipid compounds and compositions, and related products, all that can be certified organic.

摘要: A microbial oil comprising: a specific amount of at least one polyunsaturated fatty acid having at least 20 carbon atoms in fatty acid alkyl ester form and/or in free fatty acid form; and specific amount of thermally-produced fatty acid having from 16 to 22 carbon atoms in a fatty acid alkyl ester form and/or a free fatty acid form. A production method thereof comprising: providing a starting oil containing at least one polyunsaturated fatty acid having at least 20 carbon atoms in an alkyl ester form and/or a free fatty acid form obtained from microbial biomass; performing a rectification of the starting oil under specific conditions; and obtaining the aforementioned microbial oil. A concentrated microbial oil obtained using the production method described above, and a production method thereof. An agent for treating or preventing an inflammatory disease comprising the microbial oil or the concentrated microbial oil.

摘要: This disclosure provides a triglyceride oil possessing an extremely low cloud point and low viscosity concomitant with a higher than anticipated saturated fatty acid content, very low polyunsaturated fatty acid content, and low iodine value. While many naturally occurring triglyceride oils possess one or more of these properties, natural triglyceride oils lack one or more of these attributes, thus making them less than ideal in industrial applications, such as lubricants, fuels, or dielectric fluids. The combination of attributes possessed by a triglyceride oil described herein, achieved without the addition of any additives, is unique compared with natural counterparts and as such, can find wide applications in the aforementioned fields.

摘要: A method for producing an EPA alkyl ester-containing composition includes: preparing a raw material oil containing an EPA alkyl ester in an amount of from 50 to 92% by mass in the total fatty acids, in which a mass ratio of a DHA alkyl ester to the EPA alkyl ester contained in the raw material oil is 3.3% by mass or less and further a ratio of trans isomers in the EPA alkyl ester contained in the raw material oil is 2% by mass or less; bringing the raw material oil into contact with an aqueous solution containing a silver salt; recovering the aqueous solution containing the silver salt brought into contact with the raw material oil; bringing the recovered aqueous solution containing the silver salt into contact with an organic solvent; and recovering the organic solvent brought into contact with the aqueous solution containing the silver salt.

摘要: A fluid composition comprises a triglyceride, having at least one alpha-branched fatty acid residue, wherein each alpha-branched fatty acid residue comprises at least one saturated or mono-unsaturated alkyl chain having a total number of carbon atoms ranging from 12 to 20, and wherein the triglyceride has at least one of (a) a flash point of at least 185° C., (b) a fire point of at least 230° C., (c) a pour point of −25° C. or lower, or (d) a combination thereof. The fluid composition may be useful, for example, as a dielectric fluid and/or as a heat transfer fluid in transformers and other electrical device applications.
