摘要:
A process for reducing arsenic content from arsenic-bearing gold concentrate or other arsenic-bearing gold materials to produce a low arsenic-bearing gold concentrate. The process may comprise adding oxygen, water, and/or acid to an acidulated arsenic-bearing gold concentrate slurry and reacting them together in an autoclave at an elevated pressure and temperature in a pressure oxidation step. In one or more examples, the process may further comprise processing the oxidized concentrate slurry in an arsenic re-dissolution step to dissolve unstable solid arsenic compounds, and applying a first solid/liquid separation and wash step to form a first washed slurry/solid and first acid-containing solutions. The process may further comprise reacting the first washed slurry/solid with sulfur dioxide in a reductive leach step, and applying a second solid/liquid separation and wash step to form a second washed slurry/solid and second acid-containing solutions. The second washed slurry/solid may be a low arsenic-bearing gold concentrate.

The disclosure relates to the oxidation and immobilization of trivalent arsenic from arsenic-containing solutions. The process includes oxidation of trivalent arsenic (As3+) species to the pentavalent state (As5+). A carbon additive (e.g., activated carbon) and oxygen are used to promote the arsenic oxidation processes. After oxidation of arsenic to the pentavalent state, the arsenic can be removed by precipitation to ferric arsenate or calcium arsenate or other arsenic containing compounds known in the art. The oxidation of arsenic can also occur simultaneously with the production and precipitation of ferric arsenate (e.g., scorodite). Ferrous iron can be oxidized to ferric iron in the presence of activated carbon and oxygen.

The invention relates to a method for removing arsenic as scorodite from solutions that contain iron and arsenic. In accordance with the method, arsenic is first precipitated as ferric arsenate and subsequently processed hydrothermally into crystalline scorodite.

The present invention is directed to a process of treating fly ash and/or fly ash leachate to immobilize heavy metals contained in such fly ash and/or fly ash leachate, which process comprises treating such fly ash and/or fly ash leachate with a soluble ferrous compound under alkaline conditions. This process may be conducted in the absence of any pH modification, mixing (in the sense of a physical blending with a solid material), drying or heating steps, making it practical for treatment of alkaline fly ash (and other coal combustion by-products) which is currently stored in landfills or wet ash lagoons, particularly fly ash which has been recovered from flue gas streams treated with highly alkaline materials such as trona, bicarbonate or limestone and the like.

The invention relates to a method for obtaining metals from a cobalt and/or nickel arsenic sulfide ore or ore concentrate and/or a cobalt and/or nickel sulfide ore or ore concentrate, according to which the cobalt and/or nickel arsenic sulfide ore or ore concentrate and/or the cobalt and/or nickel sulfide ore or ore concentrate is reacted with sulfur or sulfur arsenic compounds to a reaction product, and dissolving and removing soluble metals and rare-earth metals.
摘要:
The present invention is a method to remove arsenic from arsenic-containing materials, such as an ore or concentrate, by roasting the arsenic-containing material to convert arsenic sulfides into arsenic oxides. The arsenic oxides are contained in the roasted arsenic-containing material. The roasted arsenic-containing material is contacted with a lixiviant to solubilize the arsenic in the oxide in a pregnant leach solution. Ferric arsenate, an environmentally stable compound, is formed in the lixiviant. The ferric arsenate can be removed to provide a treated solution complying with environmental regulations. The method provides a simple and effective technique for removing arsenic from arsenic-containing materials.

A process for producing one or more metals from a mineral feedstock (12) is defined. The mineral is fed to a leaching apparatus (10) wherein it is contacted with electrolyte (14). The leaching apparatus has zones of decreasing oxidation potential (17, 18, 19, 20) respectively. A stream of electrolyte (14A) is removed from zone (20) and is treated to remove impurities and unwanted metals in treatment unit (25A), prior to metal recovery by electrolysis. The electrolyte after electrolysis is then returned to the leaching unit (10). A second electrolyte stream (14B) may be removed from zone (19) for recovery of additional metals. The electrolyte (14B) is treated to remove impurities and any unwanted metals in treatment unit (25B), prior to metal recovery by electrolysis. The electrolyte after electrolysis is returned to leaching unit (10). The process enables the leaching of difficult to leach minerals, including gold, and can produce one or more metals of high purity.

A process suitable for the extraction or recovery of metal values from arsenic containing feeds and including the steps of: a) treating the feed with a nitric acid-containing leachant solution in order to dissolve the desired metals; b) adding a source of iron (III) to the leachant solution whereby to oxidise arsenic (III) in solution to arsenic (V); c) adding a neutralising agent to the leachant solution whereby to precipitate arsenic as arsenic (V); d) separating the arsenic (V) precipitate from the leachant solution; and e) recording metal values from the leachant solution.

A process in which spent catalyst from chlorofluorocarbon production is treated to detoxify the catalyst for safe disposal or reprocessing. The spent catalyst includes antimony and arsenic halides, halogenated organic liquids, and has an upper liquid portion and a lower sludge or semisolid portion. The processing of both the liquid and sludge portions includes hydrolyzing the catalyst in an aqueous solution of ferric chloride resulting in formation of a ferric ion/fluoride ion complex in addition to insoluble compounds, and neutralizing the reaction mass following hydrolysis with an aqueous suspension of calcium hydroxide. The volatile organics are stripped from the neutralized reaction mass and collected for reuse or disposal. The reaction mass is dried to yield the insoluble compounds in a solid form for subsequent reprocessing or disposal. The sludge portion is preferably treated separately following treatment of the liquid portion by dissolving the sludge in situ before hydrolyzing using an organic liquid solvent comprising a mixture of n-butanol and previously collected volatile organic liquids.
摘要:
A process for separating arsenic from acid aqueous solutions containing arsenic and other metal ions. The process involves bringing the acid aqueous solution into contact with a water-immiscible organic diluent consisting of hydrocarbons, alcohols or their mixtures, in which there is dissolved as solvent at least one polyol. The solvent thereby extracts the arsenic, which is then re-extracted with a counter-solvent.
