摘要: In one example, an air intake system is provided. The air intake system includes a first air inlet duct providing intake air to an engine intake conduit, the first air inlet duct including an opening positioned external to an engine compartment. The air intake system also includes a second air inlet duct positioned upstream of the engine intake conduit and external to the engine compartment, the second air inlet duct including a porous material spanning an opening in the second air inlet duct, the porous material having a plurality of defined openings sized to prevent snow from traveling therethrough and collect on the porous material thereby impeding airflow through the second air inlet duct during snowy and icy conditions.

摘要: An engine device including: an EGR device configured to circulate, as EGR gas, a portion of exhaust gas exhausted from an exhaust manifold manifold to an intake manifold; and an EGR cooler configured to cool EGR gas and supply the EGR gas to the EGR device. The EGR cooler includes a heat exchanger and a pair of flange portions. The heat exchanger has a coolant passage and an EGR gas fluid passage alternately stacked. The flange portions are disposed on the heat exchanger. An outlet of the coolant is disposed in one of the flange portions, while an inlet of the coolant is disposed in the other flange portion. An inlet of the EGR gas is disposed in one of the flange portions, while an outlet of the EGR gas is disposed in the other flange portion.

摘要: An intake air control apparatus of an engine includes an Intake manifold configured to guide intake air into a plurality of engine cylinders. A plurality of first intake air passages communicate with the cylinders. A plurality of second intake air passages are disposed in parallel with the first intake air passages and communicate with the cylinders. An Intake throttle shaft passes through the first intake air passages. An intake air throttle valve is disposed inside the first intake air passages, rotates with the Intake throttle shaft, and opens/closes the first intake air passage. A swirl throttle shaft passes though the second intake air passages. A swirl throttle valve is disposed inside the second intake air passages, rotates together with the swirl throttle shaft, and opens/closes the second intake air passages. An actuator rotates selectively the Intake throttle shaft and the swirl throttle shaft. A controller controls the actuator.

摘要: An internal combustion engine can form, in a combustion chamber, a fuel-air mixture region located on the first intake port side and containing mainly a fuel-air mixture, and a burned gas region located on the second intake port side and containing burned gas. When the fuel-air mixture region and a burned gas region are formed, the internal combustion engine determines injection rates of a first fuel injection valve and a second fuel injection valve so that fuel is injected from the first fuel injection valve and second fuel injection valve respectively, depending on an EGR rate. The injection rates are determined such that the injection rate of the first fuel injection valve is increased in accordance with the rise of the EGR rate.

摘要: An engine having two or more fuel injectors is disclosed, where at least one of the injectors is used to port fuel inject fuel into the cylinder when the air intake valve is open. The open valve port fuel injector is used to inject a fuel that has alcohol as a constituent and is the same fuel injected by another fuel injector. In other embodiments, the open valve fuel injector is used to inject an anti-knock fuel containing alcohol while a primary fuel, is introduced by another injector. The operation of the open valve fuel injector can be optimized to maximize the vaporization cooling. In other embodiments, the open valve fuel injector may be used in conjunction with direct injection of the primary fuel or the anti-knock fuel. Heavy EGR can be optimally used with the various embodiments.
