The invention relates to a device and a method for producing plastic moldings from at least two different sub-elements (15; 16). Said device comprises first and second mold halves (3) and a rotatable center block (6) with center and third mold halves (8; 17) interposed therebetween, said center and third mold halves defining a first and a second parting plane with the first and second mold halves. First cavities are defined in the first parting plane, into which cavities a first plastic component is introduced such that preforms (12) are produced. When the first parting plane is opened, the performs (12) remain on the center mold halves (8) and are brought into the second parting plane when the center block (6) is rotated, in which second parting plane second cavities are at least partially defined by the preforms (12), into which cavities a second plastic component is introduced and first sub-elements (15) are produced. Second sub-elements (16) are produced in the additional cavities. When the second parting plane is opened, the sub-elements (15; 16) remain on the center and third mold halves (8) and are rotated into a lateral assembly position when the center block (6) is rotated.

Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zur Herstellung eines aus wenigstens zwei Kunststoffteilen (2, 3) bestehenden Bauteils. Die Kunststoffteile (2, 3) werden mittels eines Spritzgußverfahrens in einer Spritzgußform (1) hergestellt, welche ein Werkzeug mit wenigstens zwei gegeneinander positionierbaren Werkzeugteilen (4a, 4b) aufweist. Zur Herstellung der Kunststoffteile (2, 3) wird mittels des Spritzgußverfahrens das Werkzeug durch Zusammenfahren der Werkzeugteile (4a, 4b) in eine Werkzeugrichtung geschlossen und Kunststoff wird in wenigstens zwei von den Werkzeugteilen (4a, 4b) begrenzten, beabstandet liegenden Hohlräumen eingespritzt. Die Kunststoffteile (2, 3) werden in der Spritzgußform (1) anschließend durch Schweißen miteinander verbunden. Hierzu werden die Werkzeugteile (4a, 4b) aus einer Schweißposition in einer zur Werkzeugrichtung geneigten Schweißrichtung gegeneinander gefahren, so dass zu verschließende Randbereiche der Kunststoffteile (2, 3) in Kontakt gebracht werden.

A wide-mouth container (1) has a body and a rim (3) defining an opening for the container, and is made of a material such as PET or PEN. The first step in its manufacture comprises injection moulding a preform (15) which has a rim (3) formed at its mouth and a continuous body-forming portion (120) extending across the preform from the inner periphery (21 ) of the rim. An injection-moulded handle (90) is then attached to the preform, with the handle having two opposed ends received respectively at different locations around the rim and being pivotable on the rim. The preform can then be stored or transported in this condition. In the final step, the preform after heating is placed in a moulding cavity (61 ) of a blow moulding apparatus (60) with the preform being located by means of the rim (3). The mould includes a recess (115) around the rim to accommodate the handle (90) attached to the rim (3) during the operation of the blow moulding apparatus. The body-forming portion (120) expands in the cavity to form the side walls (20) and bottom wall (2) of the container. The side wall (20) of the container contacts a skirt (26) forming the outer part of the rim (3), thus forming a box section which serves to retain the handle. The skirt (26) and the interior surface of the ends of the handle (90) adjacent thereto have cooperating detent arrangements which tend to latch the handle on the container in one or more predetermined pivotal positions to assist pouring. The ends of the handle can be received in the rim other than at diametrically-opposed locations, for example at locations which are spaced around the rim by 90 to 175 degrees.
