Abstract:
A container (10) for smoking articles is made from moulded plastic. The container comprises a body (11) for holding smoking articles and a lid (21) for closing the container. The lid is attached to the body by a hinge (40). The container further comprises a latch mechanism located on the body and the lid for retaining the container in the closed position. In the closed position, the lid meets the body along a line of closure (50). The lid and the body overlap along the line of closure to provide an inner wall and an outer wall. The latch mechanism comprises a recess (15) in the inner wall and an inwardly directed tab (25) attached to the outer wall for engagement with the recess to set the latch mechanism. The latch mechanism further comprises a flexure partly separated from the remainder of the body to permit an inward movement of the flexure. The latch mechanism further comprises a button (35) located on the flexure to allow a user to push the flexure inward to release the latch mechanism.
Abstract:
An electrical connector (10) is provided for mounting to an electrically conductive member (24) comprising a housing (12) having a mating end (30) and a conductor exiting end, the mating end configured for coupling a mating connector (14) characterized by; the housing (12) comprising an electrically conductive flange (46) disposed between the mating end (30) and the conductor exiting end, wherein the housing (12) extends through an opening (86) formed in the electrically conductive member (24) and wherein the flange (46) is detachably securable to a surface (26) of the electrically conductive member (24) for maintaining electrical communication between the member and the housing (12).
Abstract:
One embodiment of a brake drum includes a cylindrical main body portion (12), a brake drum mounting flange portion (18), a brake drum transition portion (24), the brake drum transition portion extending between the cylindrical main body portion and the mounting flange portion, the transition portion having a plurality of vent openings (28), and one air scoop secured (34) at each of the vent openings, whereby rotation of the brake drum and air scoop induces air movement within a brake drum cavity defined by the main body portion. Each air scoop defines a louver opening (62) which faces the angular direction of drum rotation, an air channel in fluid communication with the louver opening and the brake drum cavity, and a deflection surface (64) located in the air channel. The deflection surface is positioned to re-direct air movement entering the louver opening at an angular direction, to a generally radial and inboard direction.

Abstract:
A dietary supplement and methods for the manufacture and administration of the same are disclosed for the treatment and/or prevention of digestive disorders and digestive tract-related disorders. The dietary supplement of the present invention is orally administrable, and may be compounded either in a solid form, in a paste form, in a granular form, in a powder form, or in a liquid form. The ingredients of the dietary supplement of the present invention when combined provide a synergistic efficacy which greatly exceeds the sum of the efficacies of the individual ingredients, making the dietary supplement highly effective in the treatment and/or prevention of digestive disorders and digestive tract-related disorders.
Abstract:
This document discusses brain stimulation models, systems, devices, and methods, such as for deep brain stimulation (DBS) or other electrical stimulation. A model computes volume of influence region for a simulated electrical stimulation using certain stimulation parameters, such as amplitude, pulsewidth, frequency, pulse morphology, electrode contact selection or location, return path electrode selection, pulse polarity, etc. The model uses a non-uniform tissue conductivity. This accurately represents brain tissue, which has highly directionally conductive neuron pathways yielding a non-homogeneous and anisotropic tissue medium.
Abstract:
A computer-based fibre production monitoring system includes at least one sensor, and a computer server in communication with the sensors. Each sensor is configured to provide data packets each being associated with a respective threadline and providing a measurement of at least one physical characteristic of a fibre as it is drawn past the sensor on the threadline and wound onto a bobbin. The computer server is configured to provide an analysis of the physical characteristics on a per-threadline basis and/or per-bobbin basis from the measurements. The sensor is configured as an electric field sensor, and includes an insulating substrate, non-contacting electrodes disposed on the substrate, and vias extending transversely through the substrate. The electrodes are interlaced with one another. One portion of the vias is coupled to one portion of the electrodes, and another portion of the vias is coupled to another portion of the electrodes.

Abstract:
An apparatus for identifying and measuring in real time substances overlying a surface comprises a plurality of electrodes, a temperature sensor, an electrode control system connected to the plurality of electrodes for defining an electric field, an amplitude and phase measurement system connected to the plurality of electrodes and to the electrode control system for measuring a plurality of currents responsive to the electric field and converting the currents to a measurement set and computer for storing a map comprising a partition of a vector space of predetermined characteristics of substances into regions of profiles corresponding to the substances which could be overlying the surface. The computer correlates the measurement set with the map thereby identifying and quantifying the substances overlying the surface and generates an output signal corresponding to the identity and quantity of substances overlying the surface. A display responsive to the output signal displays the identity and quantity of substances overlying the surface.
