摘要： A surface mount package for a microwave circuit is disclosed. The package has a port for transferring a signal from the microwave circuit to a printed circuit board. The package includes a base made from a dielectric material which includes vias which contain a conductive material and are electrically coupled to the ground potential of the printed circuit board. Conductive material is placed on the topside of the base forming a transmission line for carrying the signal in a transmission line mode. To facilitate operation in a transmission line mode, the length of the transmission line is a substantial portion of the wavelength of the signal. The transmission line provides electrical contact with a terminal of the microwave circuit and is electrically coupled to the port. Additionally, the transmission line forms an electromagnetic wave guiding structure. In one embodiment, the electromagnetic wave guiding structure operates in both grounded coplanar waveguide and microstrip mode where a second conductive material resides on the top side of the base and spaced a distance from the first conductive material. In such a configuration, a portion of the base separates the first and second conductive materials, and the second conductive material substantially surrounds the first conductive material of the transmission line.

The present invention is directed toward the shearing blade assembly used in conjunction with the notching blade of the cut-off die set. The subject device includes a mounting block fixed to the upper platen of a die set, a shearing blade mounted to a shearing blade cartridge. The shearing blade cartridge is then inserted into the mounting block and is retained in position by a cam lock assembly. The cam lock assembly and cartridge system allows the shearing blade to be quickly and efficiently removed and replaced as needed.

摘要： A linear accelerator system for linearly advancing an electrically conductive, elongate workpiece, such as tubing, along its longitudinal axis toward a cutoff station or the like includes a helically configured electrical coils concentrically disposed around the workpiece for inducing an electromagnetic field which imposes an axial force on the workpiece. An adjustable stop assembly engages one end of the workpiece to allow selection on the length to be cut. A switch operated by the stop assembly produces a first control signal for controlling a relay which deenergizes the coil; the relay reenergizes the coil in response to a second control signal produced by another switch which senses the completion of the cutoff operation. Sleeves removably mounted on the coil to accommodate workpieces having various diameters. In lieu of the stop assembly, a length encoder may be optionally employed in combination with the accelerator or a separate retarding device to control feed length.

摘要： An electronic component and a method for making an electronic component are disclosed. The electronic component has a silicon package. The silicon package has a recess formed thereon in which a conductive region is placed. A bare die electronic device is disposed in the recess. The device has a top, a bottom, sides and a plurality of terminals, including a non-top terminal. The non-top terminal is electrically coupled to the conductive region. The electronic component is constructed by first creating a recess in a silicon wafer to a depth substantially equal to the first dimension of the bare die electronic device. A conductive material is applied to the recess. The electronic device is inserted into the recess so that the bottom terminal is coupled to the conductive material. A dielectric or other planarizing material is applied into the recess. Top and bottom contacts are then applied to form the electronic component so that it may be used as a ball grid array package. The top contact is electrically coupled to the top terminal of the electronic device and the bottom contact is coupled electrically to the conductive material.

摘要： A notching blade assembly specifically for use in a double-cut die set of the type used to cut tubing continuously emanating from the tube mill. The present invention is directed toward the notching blade assembly used in conjunction with the vertical guillotine blade of the cut-off die set to notch the upper surface of the tubing prior to the shearing cut. The subject device includes a guide member mounted to a cross slide assembly affixed to a double cut die set, having a notching blade holder displaceably mounted to the guide member allowing the holder to be positioned at any point along the guide member. The invention further includes an adjustment screw mounted in a base and threadably coupled to the notching blade holder, whereby rotation of the adjustment screw can be used to vary the position of the notching blade holder on said guideway. The subject device further includes a notching blade mounted in a notching blade cartridge, when the cartridge is retained in a chamber on the notching blade holder said chamber having slots cut rearwardly of the body of the chamber allowing the notching blade and notching blade cartridge to be forced back into the holder assembly thus avoiding a failure should the vertical or guillotine blade be broken and left in the die set.
