    Abstract: The invention relates to a container holder 10, comprising a main body 12 which in turn comprises a gas inlet 16; a solution liquid outlet 18; a gas control valve 20 through which a gas enters the container 100 from the gas inlet; and a sealing means 22 for the container, which sealing means includes a passageway 24 for the input of gas and output of a solution in the container via an egress tube 19; wherein when the container is connected to the container holder through the sealing means, the gas control valve opens automatically, and when the container is disconnected the gas control valve is closed automatically. The invention further relates to a container panel 50 which includes two or more container holders. Also disclosed are methods of using these containers and container panels for synthesizing a polypeptide.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to a reconfigurable bioprocessing system (80) operable to perform a predetermined set of bioprocessing operations therein. The reconfigurable bioprocessing system (80) comprises a base unit (60) comprising a plurality of valve actuators (102). At least one of the plurality of valve actuators (102) is operable to releasably engage with at least part of a pinch valve cassette (103, 203) to control fluid flow through the pinch valve cassette (103, 203). At least part of the pinch valve cassette (103, 203) is removably attachable to the base unit (60) and the pinch valve cassette (103, 203) is provided adjacent to said plurality of valve actuators (102). The reconfigurable bioprocessing system (80) also includes a control system operable to selectively actuate respective of said plurality of valve actuators (102) to provide a valve configuration within the pinch valve cassette (103, 203) to enable the base unit (60) and the pinch valve cassette (103, 203) together to perform one of the predetermined set of bioprocessing operations. A flow kit (107) for use in reconfigurable bioprocessing systems (80) and various methods (1000) for reconfiguring bioprocessing systems (80) (e.g. automatically) are also disclosed.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to a liquid chromatography system for the separation of bio-molecules in a fluid including at least two unit operations, wherein the first unit operation is a step of multi-column chromatography and the second unit operation is a step modifying said bio-molecules and/or the fluid, wherein the modification comprises feeding the fluid resulting from the last chromatography column of the first unit operation into a system comprising at least two containers, wherein each container has a volume and a moveable sidewall arranged to divide the volume into a first sub-volume and a second sub-volume, and each container comprises a first port connected to the first volume and a second port connected to the second sub-volume. The invention also relates to a virus inactivation device for a chromatography system according to the invention, which enables continuous or semi-continuous processing of biomolecules, as well as a method of using such a device.
