One example method comprises during engine fueling below a threshold amount where at least one intake valve and one exhaust valve of the engine are operating: generating an equilibrium value of an exhaust gas constituent reading of the exhaust gas sensor, the equilibrium value based on a trajectory of the exhaust gas constituent reading, and under selected engine combusting conditions, adjusting the sensor signal based on the equilibrium value.

摘要: An electrochemical gas sensor and methods of operating an electrochemical gas sensor are disclosed. In one embodiment, an electrochemical gas sensor comprising a measuring electrode pair configured to measure a gas species and a pumping electrode pair configured to reduce an amount of an interfering species in a sample in the electrochemical gas sensor is operated by obtaining a measurement of the interfering species at a location spatially adjacent to a measuring electrode of the measuring electrode pair, and adjusting one or more of an operation or an output processing of the electrochemical gas sensor based on the measurement of the interfering species.

摘要: A system, comprising of a catalyst supported on a substrate positioned in an engine exhaust, a heater embedded in a sub-region of the substrate to heat a local region of the catalyst, and an electrode coupled in the local sub-region of the substrate of the catalyst. The catalyst reduces NOx emissions by reacting it with a reductant such as ammonia. The amount of ammonia stored on the catalyst may be determined and controlled through conductivity measurements in the locally heated portion of the system described.
