    Abstract: A tool for mounting a motor-vehicle wheel on a wheel hub includes a tubular body having a coupling portion arranged for coupling to the wheel hub, and a carrier portion for supporting the motor-vehicle wheel during a centering phase of the wheel on the hub. The tool has an inner tubular member and an outer tubular member rigidly connected to each other so as to be coaxial. At the coupling portion, the inner and outer tubular members are spaced apart so as to define a space arranged to receive an end portion of the wheel hub, in such a way that, in an operating condition, the end portion of the hub is interposed between the inner tubular member and the outer tubular member.

    Abstract: A wheel unit for an electric vehicle with a disengageable drive includes a wheel support, a wheel hub rotatably supported by the wheel support, and a wheel pin carried by a member driven by the electric motor and rotatably mounted within the wheel hub, by means of two rolling bearings. A coupling device connects in a releasable way the driven member to the wheel hub. The two rolling bearings that support in rotation the wheel pin have respective outer rings mounted by interference fit within a cylindrical wall of a central opening of the wheel hub, and respective inner rings rigidly connected together by means of a spacer sleeve having a predetermined length. The wheel-hub unit with the two rolling bearings and the spacer sleeve can be assembled before being mounted on the wheel pin.

    Abstract: A ventilated brake disk for a motor vehicle has a rotor provided with two disks having respective inner faces, which are axially spaced apart and are joined to each other through a plurality of pins; the radially outermost end areas of the two faces axially define between them an annular passage, which houses the wavy intermediate portion of a wire damping element; this intermediate portion is elastically deformed in a direction parallel to the axis of the rotor so as to be forced against the disks; at its opposite ends, the wire damping element ends with two fastening portions which are radially inwardly bent with respect to the intermediate portion and are hooked to respective pins.

    Abstract: A vehicle braking system includes a controller that receives signals from sensors associated with vehicle disc brakes, which allow detection of a parameter indicative of a degree of noise generated from each disc brake. When noise generation is detected, the controller activates a noise attenuation function of a first type if the vehicle is braking, and of a second type if the vehicle is not braking. The first type involves reducing actuating pressure of a fluid actuator associated with the disc brake for which noise generation is detected. The second type involves temporarily activating, while the vehicle is running and not braking, the fluid actuator associated with the disc brake which is generating noise. The controller also receives signals indicative of vehicle operating parameters which allow conditions to be defined in which priority is given to vehicle safety, and in which the noise attenuation function is excluded.

    Abstract: An automotive active brake noise damping system to actively damp braking noise perceivable in the passenger compartment of a motor vehicle comprising a braking system comprising a plurality of braking assemblies associated with wheels of the motor vehicle. The automotive active brake noise damping system comprises a sensory system to sense quantities that allow braking noise perceived in the passenger compartment of the motor vehicle and generated by the braking assemblies during braking to be estimated, an audio system to diffuse sounds in the passenger compartment of the motor vehicle, and an electronic control unit connected to the sensory system and the audio system, and programmed to control the audio system based on the quantities sensed by the sensor system to actively damp the braking noise perceived in the passenger compartment of the motor vehicle. The sensory system comprises vibration sensors, conveniently in the form of piezoelectric accelerators, which are applied to the braking assemblies to sense the amplitude of the vibrations generated by the braking assemblies during braking, and the electronic control unit is programmed to store a mathematical model, which correlates vibrations generated by the braking assemblies during braking with corresponding braking noise perceived in the passenger compartment of the motor vehicle and produced by the braking assemblies during braking, estimate the braking noise perceived in the passenger compartment of the motor vehicle and generated by the braking assemblies of the braking system during braking as a function of the vibrations generated by the braking assemblies during braking and sensed by the vibration sensors applied to the braking assemblies and of the stored mathematical model, compute an interfering sound to be diffused in the passenger compartment of the motor vehicle to damp the braking noise perceived in the passenger compartment of the motor vehicle and generated by the braking assemblies during braking, and control the audio system to cause it to diffuse the computed interfering sound.

    Abstract: An anti-loosening device for a fastening unit of a motor-vehicle wheel is configured to be coupled with a wheel hub. The anti-loosening device is configured to be arranged within the wheel hub along an axial direction, so that a main axis of the anti-loosening device coincides with the wheel axis. The anti-loosening device includes a gear arranged to cooperate with inner teeth of the wheel hub, an elastic element extending axially with respect to the gear, and a coupling element obtained on a sector of said gear, arranged to receive a corresponding fastening. During assembly of the wheel—hub assembly, the anti-loosening device is arranged to create a compressed configuration, wherein the gear is decoupled with respect to the inner teeth, and is arranged within a cavity portion obtained on the inner surface of the wheel hub, so as to allow rotation of the anti-loosening device around the main axis.
