Abstract: A laminated film includes a functional layer laminate having a wavelength conversion layer, such as a quantum dot layer, and a gas barrier film laminated on both main surfaces and sandwiching the wavelength conversion layer, and an end face sealing layer covering a region from a portion of one main surface of the functional layer laminate to a portion of the other main surface including the entirety of end face of the functional layer laminate, in which the end face sealing layer has a build-up portion formed on the main surface of the functional layer laminate, and a width of the build-up portion measured from the end face is equal to or greater than 0.01 mm and equal to or smaller than 8% of a length of the main surface.

Abstract: Provided is a backlight film that is used for a liquid crystal display or the like, uses a wavelength conversion film, has satisfactory durability, and enables light without color unevenness to be emitted from the backlight unit. The problem is solved by including a wavelength conversion film having a wavelength conversion layer and gas barrier films that sandwich the wavelength conversion layer; and a plurality of reflective layers provided on one main surface of the wavelength conversion film, and causing area unevenness of the reflective layer to be ±5% or less.

Abstract: Provided are a method and an apparatus for producing a film with a coating solution including a material whose performance is deteriorated by oxygen functional film, without performance deterioration. The apparatus for producing a functional film includes a coating device which has a backup roller and a die coater and applies a coating solution having a dissolved oxygen concentration of 1000 ppm or less and including 10000 ppm or less of an organic solvent to a flexible support transported in a state where the support is wound around the backup roller to form a coated film, a lamination device which laminates a coated surface of the coated film and the film on the backup roller, and an inert gas atmosphere forming device which forms an inert gas atmosphere in a space including the coated surface from a coating start position to a lamination start position on the backup roller.

The functional film includes an optical functional layer, a resin layer which surrounds end surfaces of the optical functional layer, and gas barrier supports between which the optical functional layer and the resin layer are sandwiched, in which an oxygen permeability of the resin layer is 10 cc/(m2·day·atm) or less, and a difference between a thickness of the optical functional layer and the resin layer is within 30%; and a production method including forming a frame-shaped resin layer on a surface of a first gas barrier support, filling the inside of the frame with a polymerizable composition which becomes an optical functional layer, laminating a second gas barrier support on the resin layer, and curing the polymerizable composition.
