A polyurethane dispersion and a method of making are provided. The polyurethane dispersion is stable in a mixture of alcohol and water. The dispersion comprises the reaction product of (a) an isocyanate terminated polyurethane prepolymer comprising the reaction product of (i) at least one oligomeric polyactive hydrogen compound insoluble in said alcohol, wherein said polyactive hydrogen compound is an alkyl, aryl, or aralkyl structure optionally substituted by N, O, and S; (ii) at least one polyisocyanate, and (iii) at least one polyactive hydrogen compound soluble in said mixture of alcohol and water; (b) a polyfunctional chain extender; and (c) a monofunctional chain terminator; wherein the equivalent ratio of difunctional chain extender to prepolymer isocyanate is 0.60 to 1.20.

The polymerizable ionic liquid comprises one or more ethylenically unsaturated (e.g. free-radically polymerizable) groups. Various embodiments of curable dental compositions are described. In some embodiments, the polymerizable ionic liquid is a monofunctional polymerizable ionic liquid comprising an ethylenically unsaturated group. In other embodiments, the polymerizable ionic liquid is a multi-functional polymerizable ionic liquid comprising at least two ethylenically unsaturated groups. The curable dental compositions describe herein can be utilized as dental primers, dental adhesives, dental sealants, and dental composites. In many embodiments, the curable dental compositions further comprise an initiator such as a photoinitiator.

Disclosed herein are microstructured articles that can be made by molding. The microstructured articles comprise crosslinked unsaturated polymers formed by ring opening metathesis polymerization (ROMP) of a monomer composition, the monomer composition comprising a cyclic monomer having at least one reactive double bond. The microstructured articles may be structured in that they comprise at least one microstructured feature having a dimension of less than about 2 mm, or less than about 500 um. The microstructured articles may also comprise a plurality of such microstructured features. Also disclosed herein are methods of making the microstructured articles.
