摘要: A multithreaded processor can concurrently execute a plurality of threads in a processor core. The threads can access a shared main memory through a memory interface; the threads can generate read and write transactions that cause shared main memory access. An incoherency detection module prevents incoherency by maintaining a record of outstanding global writes, and detecting a conflicting global read. A barrier is sequenced with the conflicting global write. The conflicting global read is allowed to proceed after the sequence of the conflicting global write and the barrier are cleared. The sequence can be maintained by a separate queue for each thread of the plurality.

摘要: A device for testing adhesive tape including a sample holder located in a first plane and a movable platen having a major surface located in a plane perpendicular to the plane in which the sample holder is located. The platen and the sample holder each have an edge adjacent to the edge of the other, where the platen and the sample holder are moveable with respect to each other such that the movement of the platen with respect to the sample holder separates the adjacent edges and thereby applies a load to a length of tape that is secured to the surface of a sample in the holder and secured to the surface of the platen during testing.

摘要: A tool for use in initiating a hydraulic fracture in a bore hole comprises an elongate cylindrical bore hole packer structure (11) having an inner longitudinal passage (12), a mid-portion (13) provided with ports (14) extending outwardly from passage (12) to the exterior periphery of the packer structure (11) and expandable circumferential well portions (15A) surrounding the inner longitudinal passage (12) to each side of the mid-portion (13). In use of the tool the circumferential wall portions (15A) can be expanded by injection of hydraulic fracturing fluid into passage 12) and exit of the injected fluid through the ports (14) to produce a pressure difference between the inside of the packer structure and the outside of the packer structure as the fluid passes through the ports (14) such that the hydraulic fluid exiting the packer structure can initiate a fracture. The packer structure (11) is disposed between a pair of tool end pieces (16) one of which provides a fluid inlet for injection of hydraulic fluid into one end of passage (12) and the other of which closes the other end of passage (12) against outflow of hydraulic fluid therefrom.

摘要: A method of interfacing atmospheric pressure ion sources, including electrospray and desorption electrospray ionization sources, to mass spectrometers, for example miniature mass spectrometers, in which the ionized sample is discontinuously introduced into the mass spectrometer. Discontinuous introduction improves the match between the pumping capacity of the instrument and the volume of atmospheric pressure gas that contains the ionized sample. The reduced duty cycle of sample introduction is offset by operation of the mass spectrometer under higher performance conditions and by ion accumulation at atmospheric pressure.

摘要: A fracture fixation plate system for use on a long bone having a metaphysis and a diaphysis, includes at least one end plate having a head portion for the metaphysis, and at least one diaphyseal plate having a first end and a second end with a plurality of screw holes therebetween. The end plate includes mating structure adapted to mate with and securely couple to at least one end of the at least one diaphyseal plate. The system preferably includes several end plates and diaphyseal plates to accommodate anatomy of various sizes.

摘要: A plate holder is provided to facilitate percutaneous introduction of a bone plate, positioning of the plate on a bone surface, and stabilizing the plate while a fastener is inserted through the plate into the bone. The plate holder includes a proximal handle, a distal mount, and an arm extending between the handle and the mount. The mount includes a first portion which seats within a slot on the shaft of a plate, and a second portion at which the shaft is coupled and which includes a tapered proximal side. A set screw hole is provided through the first and second portions, and a set screw is provided therein. When the first portion is seated in a compression slot of a plate and the set screw is driven to seat, the set screw locks the mount to the plate.
